DUFC News

Good morning all. Isn't Tuesday the worst? Everyone goes on about Monday, but Tuesday is just a grim day and easily the worst day of the week.

So why not brighten everyone's Tuesday with some DUFC News!

So what do I have for you? Well, United were in action twice over the weekend, with all players getting game time over matches with Brechin and Dumbarton. United won at Glebe Park by six goals to nil, but came unstuck the following day with a 3-2 defeat to Dumbarton. A good work out for the players though ahead of the league cup opener at Tynecastle on Friday night (live on BT Sports).

United had a couple of trialists involved. One was Pablo Ganet, but despite his terrific name he has now moved on from the club. The other is Adam King, brother of Billy, and who had previously been down at Swansea. Adam remains on trial with the club at the moment and may be given a deal. We're also apparently looking at a young winger from Everton on loan but we're facing competition for that one from Hearts.

I think those are our two main problem areas at the moment and I'd be keen for further (quality) options for both positions to be brought in. Whenever I pencil my preferred starting lineup for the season it really strikes me how lacking in these areas we are. If we can't get another winger in then I think we need to seriously look at playing a midfield diamond with the two full backs being pushed high up the park to give us width. My team would be:

----------------Siegrist
Smith--Connolly--Reynolds---Sporle
--------------Butcher/Bouhenna---------
----Harkes------------------New guy---
-----------------McMullan/C.Smith------
-------------Shankland----Sow/Clark

Away from the playing side, the Shed has now been renamed the 'Carling Stand at Tannadice Park'. This is part of Carling being our official pashwater supplier, or something. We shall continue to call it the Shed regardless.

We will also be releasing our new kit on Friday ahead of the opening game of the season and, as part of our '50 years of tangerine' thing that the club are doing, there are plenty of rumours that our new shirt will replicate the shirt worn by the Dallas Tornado side which of course is where the colours originated from. Expect plenty of United fans to lose their shiiit about this as it contains flashes of blue in the kit. We shall see if the club changes the blue to black to avoid the 'uproar'.

Anyway, Mon the Terrors and all that and I hope Tuesday isn't terrible for everyone.

I am pretty sure the toilets in the Taybank in Dunkeld used to be buckets on the wall and no cubicles. Just all open and that's where you had to do a poo.

Sounds very sexy

Goes hand in hand really. Or on sleeves. Like their strip that had brown sleeves.

I once did a green chite
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Mine was red once after I had eaten an entire red velvet cake the day before.

Apparently calls to NHS 24 about bloody poo rocket on February 15th after people think they have something horribly wrong with them, as it's a popular Valentine's Day dessert.
Either that or they really have been up to something on Valentine's Day.

I like the fact there are never any Aberdeen threads because nobody cares about them.

Let us never talk about that strip again.

I was considering getting our new away top but I cannot deal with the sponsor alignment. I have fixed it in Paint and sent it back to the club to update the strip so that it is aligned centrally but it's the company itself that messed up their logo so I need to go to them and tell them that their logo is a disgrace and get them to change it and then I can buy the strip.
