Arsenal
Have brought in a young winger Martinelli for 6m and they need wingers so on the face of it the deal makes sense but is he first team ready? If he's not, that's a decent chunk of the reported budget.
A reported 27m, which won't come from this summers budget according to the Guardian is being spent on 18yo William Saliba a CB who will be loaned back to Toulouse for this season. A deal for Kieran Tierney has been touted but has went rather quiet of late, i would imagine it would cost around 20m to get that done but Arsenal show no signs of paying up.
The Zaha chase is laughable if the budget it correct, though them being in for him suggests to me at least there must be more cash available and Arsenal are happy to let the low budget do the rounds.
Those aside, there is surely a need for a replacement for Aaron Ramsey and a first team ready winger but it's a tough ask unless their pockets are significantly deeper.
Chelsea
Kovacic signed but that's hardly one to excite the fans considering he was rarely above average last season. Plenty of loanees returning for Lampard to assess and it will be interesting to see who he keeps around.
Liverpool
Very quiet at Anfield to this stage, they have shifted a few decent earners off the wage bill and have not yet been linked to Daniel Sturridge's stolen dog. Actually not funny, give him the dog back now.
Sepp Van den Berg has been signed but i would not imagine he will be first team ready and there seems to be little movement in terms of players coming in. Possible cover in both full back positions needed if Clyne leaves, not sure i expect them to do any more than that but maybe after Klopp has assessed the squad in pre-season and decided what he's after they may get linked to a few bigger names.
Manchester City
I'll have to admit to not having seen much of Rodri or not noticing him when I have seen Atletico, probably not a bad sign for a defensive midfielder and the heir to the Fernandinho throne but at 63m is a statement signing. Angelino returns from PSV to provide cover to Benjamin always on the Mendy.
A replacement for Kompany must remain high on the agenda and in my opinion luckily for City it appears Maguire favours United. At 40m he would be a good signing at 90m is crossed the line into outright lunacy. They could possibly could do with another keeper as Bravo as 2nd choice could be disastrous if Ederson gets injured. Bayern Munich continue to court Sane and if he's sold expect City to go very big on a replacement. With only 2 out and out strikers and Aguero's city career nearing an end there remains the possibility of another attacker coming in but probably at the bottom of the list.
Manchester United
The circus rolls on with Paul Pogba, agitating for a move and generally being a pain to have but with a price tag so wild it's hard to see how he moves unless it's players plus cash but United don't seem to want Bale (no wonder it's Sanchez wages again with more risk on paper than he was) and it remains to be seen if they could entice Isco.
Lukaku is another who's time looks up if Inter Milan can beg, steal or borrow the funds. On the face of it losing two big players is far from ideal but if they can get 200m for the pair, I would back them to get more out of it than they have from those 2 who have not lived up to they hype. The interest in Lindelof can't be allowed to go further, there is already too much to do in one window and Sanchez moving looks unlikely unless he's willing to take a massive cut.
Moves developing for Darmian, Matic, Fred, Rojo would all probably been seen favourably by United fans but the latter 3 are going to be very tough to shift.
James is an interesting signing with bags of pace, looking forward to seeing how he gets on and the same for Wan-Bissaka who i think long term will be a very good addition.
Still feels like there is lots of work to be done, replacements for Pogba and Lukaku at some point if they are sold and rather than potential they need here and now ability at CB and a couple of CM's and a winger. Interest in Lemina and Longstaff worry me, neither are currently good enough but one or the either with a genuine top class CM wouldn't be bad.
Spurs
Ndombele is a big statement on the face of it but in reality only replaces Dembele.
Eriksen's future remains up in the air as nobody actually seems to want him or more accurately Levy will be asking well over the odds for a guy with 12months left. Very surprisingly to me nobody has bid the 25m release for Alderweireld, i expect that to happen before the end of the window.
So that's 2 huge players needing replaced, a back up striker (Llorente supposedly might re-sign) and the fans crying out for a RB, another CM wouldn't hurt either or a winger. Almost certainly not going to get all of that so down to Poch again to work some magic if they are to progress.
