CAN MAN UTD STILL ATTRACT TOP TALENT?

So this is being discussed on SKY SPORTS Transfer center, and I pose the question to the fans on here also, what do you all think ?

There is no doubt that Manchester United can offer wages, but they cannot offer success, or stability, they also cannot offer champions league football, and where they used to be a cert, with the re-emergence of Liverpool, and the emergence of Tottenham and Manchester City, the last place is very hard to fight for with Chelsea and Arsenal eyeing up that spot.

The last thing to consider, is the manager, although Ole is a club legend, he does not hold the stature that Klopp, Guardiola, Poch. Can Ole attract the right players for the club ?

It is being discussed here if anybody is interested:-

So what do we all think on here ?

“CAN MAN UTD STILL ATTRACT TOP TALENT?”

At present probably not as we once did, “top talent” want to play in the champions league.

Generally speaking money has always been the main factor for most players (if the options are within the top leagues, forget about comedy leagues in the Middle East and China).

If money offered is equal or close to then it does then come down to other factors. United used to be in that very exclusive second tier behind the big two of Barca and Madrid but now they're below that.

The likes of Liverpool, City, Bayern, PSG, Atletico and Juve all above them. United are now sitting around the bracket below with the likes of Chelsea, Arsenal, Spurs, Dortmund and maybe the Milan clubs.

We’ve never attracted top talent though.

We have always developed our own or bought young / emerging players and developed them ourselves.

Can't believe there are some Man United supporters out there who don't get this. (Generally, with a few notable exceptions, many who have failed).

Conjecture.

Untied are a massive club and players still want to play for the club.

If you don't believe that then I think you're a little naive.

It's funny, you still see the players and OGS say "we're the biggest club in the world" but there's this clear kinda panic in their eye. Like the house is burning down and they're saying, don't worry everything is hunky dory.

You offer an up and coming player 200k pw to play at City, Liverpool or United and unless they fear they'll not get in the squad they'll choose one of the other two.

Within a few seasons you could definitely turn that around though, I'm talking here and now.

Also I never said United aren't a massive club, they clearly are. This is about how attractive they are for players and IMO they've sunk down big time. Luckily for United the biggest factor is money so it's unlikely to have much effect unless you've got completely equal terms offered by the currently superior clubs.

Ah well, if you can interpret their thoughts from looking into their eyes, who am I to argue?

Have a great day.

That's not even the argument though?

Just an observation from your "massive club, we're still attractive" denail of reality statement

(Assume you're claiming United are still more/equally attractive vs the clubs mentioned in my original comment)

You’ve done both surely? Develop young players and compliment them with bringing in top talent from elsewhere.
