Parrott in Poch squad plans this season?

A report in the Irish Independent suggests that Ireland U19 manager Tom Mohan has been informed by Tottenham that Parrott will not be available for the U19 European Championships in Armenia next week. The young striker played a major part in getting Ireland to the finals with his goals.
Parrott has been training with Tottenham's first team throughout this week and with the team flying out to Singapore next week, his omission from the Irish squad suggests he will be joining Spurs' stars on the plane. Pochettino always takes a handful of young players on the summer tours and often it leads to their senior debut if they impressed on the travels.Parrott is often referred to as 'the next Robbie Keane' and the former Spurs striker and now Ireland assistant manager Keane, met the youngster recently at the club."We have to be careful with Troy Parrott. A couple of us here have to be careful not to pigeonhole him with being the next me and all of that. He's him. He’s Troy Parrott so we have to let him develop as a young player," he told the Irish Times."Has he got ability? Absolutely. I speak to Pochettino all the time and he loves him. Jesus [Perez] the assistant manager loves him. He definitely has potential but then he's just turned 17; I know I got thrown in at 17 but he’s still young and he’s had a lot of attention."He added: "People at Tottenham love him. He’s a lovely lad, he definitely has the mentality, he has everything so he certainly has a chance but it’s up to him."I had an hour with him at the Tottenham training ground. I went over and had lunch with him, just wanted to have a chat with him, see where he was."He definitely has the right temperament to be a top player and like I say the manager speaks very highly of him. He’s got a chance so, when the opportunity comes for him he needs to take it."We need him to develop, to keep scoring goals, I know he did for the U23s last season and then he got injured but we need him to keep progressing, keep developing, keep watching, keep learning, keep listening, keep speaking to Harry Kane, watch what he does, what his movement.

If he manages to be involved in your first team squad i wouldn't be surprised if Mick plays him for the senior ROI team, we've a very average pool of strikers at the moment. Out of 4 they don't have a senior goal between them.

We have high hopes for him as knee says we desperately need a striker

Got to take it easy with him. At that age Kane took a few years struggling on loans (although probably learned a lot) before a breakthrough at an older age. That's not to say everyone is the same and so he could make an impact earlier.

If Parrot is the planned backup for Harry Kane ....better keep Llorente

If they call him up he has no choice right? or is it different for youth sides?

I'm sure he'd happily step up to senior international level he's a born and bred Dublin lad hence all the robbie keane comparisons.

Hopefully he does well for you in pre season and is in the first team squad next season.
