Apollo 11

50th anniversary coming up next Friday.

I will prob not have internet access when it happens.

Vivid personal memories

An allnighter in the middle of a heatwave.

And for the cynics - the world was just as unstable and scary as today.

Looks like we'll be back before 2023.

Dunno why I posted this tbh.

Just felt like it

She normally does have a few with me mate. We're no long back from Benidorm where we both went mental for a few days. Was superb

Mate...just posted my reply to you on the live election thread about partying and scooter...check it out.

Am a phanny.

It's good to party together and let off steam, relax and go daft together.

Was in Benidorm 15 years back when NI were playing near Alacante and it was 27 degrees in autumn with cheap beer and food.

Was in some Rangers bar and nearly got lifted by Spanish cops for pretending to lead a parade out the bar door.

Sure I’ve read similar. The computer equivalent of that mission wouldn’t run a modern calculator.

Something like that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
100 times more computer ecu Bobbins in cars today than those rockets.

Which is why cars are so fickle.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The how come my car can’t fly, eh?

Explain that with your precious “science”.

Pfft.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It's a shame really, people were move niave back in the 1960s, they didn't have access to the amount of info we have now.

It must have been a more idealistic time back then, more trusting.

If I had been duped back then I'd be raging about it too.

Sixties free love, drugs and Woodstock...Hendrix and Floyd and Who.

They could have landed a rocket in drumchapel and said it was the moon.

Trust me there's still plenty rockets in the drum

60s - end of conscription, mini skirts, maxi-skirts, floppy hats, cheesecloth, afghans, burning bras & Buddhists, start of the written titilation in the press and lost respect for all authority, 'nam, colour TV, BBC2, transistorisation & rise of the unions.

Bout ye Silver.

Saw the Drum flute band yesterday in Belfast and was telling mates about my Drum orange hall experience 30 years ago.

After a Gers game we went to drumchapel for a party and visited the lodge complete with tartan wallpaper and a girl beside me who broke the ice by showing me her arm needle marks.

7 was always lucky wi wimmin.

Remember seeing wee lads in Celtic and rangers top playing fitba together in the Drum though....not like most of our estates then.

I was born in 64...but would have loved to hsve been ten years older then as might have for some free love and less seventies Ulster.πŸ™‚

There were loads of bands and girls over from Glasgow for the Twelfth and politics aside, they party like Fook...dancing in the street, flirting, drinking and singing like mad all day.

Just like a mad hen and stag do with drums and flags the.😊😊😊

Had the eye of one Glasgow lassie and if I was not married, I would have had an even better day....in ma fookin dreams.πŸ˜πŸ˜πŸ˜‰

We made up for it to an extent in the 80' s and 90's, with hippy Hendrix, Doors, Floyd music and bikes, then Stone Roses and Happy Mondays scene.... leading into rave and club culture with blow, E and speed....

Baggy clothes and loved up....just 30 years late mate.

Was always contrarian, tbbab. Stuck to the swally and never had even a drag of a ciggy or any illicit stuff. Grew up enjoying soul, swing, jazz & classical. Never had any interest in punk, metal and later 'alternate' scenes. Never been a clubber though don't mind a wee bit dance. Like to put on some beach lounge in the summer lie in the bath.
