Icardi has left Inter's pre-season training camp.

Maybe he's on his way somewhere else to free up funds for Lukaku?

Young was the best player on the pitch in the first half, Mata in the second half.

Young hit some superb balls between the lines for James, a couple of beauts over the top (both for Pereira?) and even a Rooney-esque crossfield ball. Didn’t have to do much defending at all, but played very well creating and supporting the attack down the left. Hit the side netting with a decent FK too.

Mata just kept winning the ball back for us high up the pitch time after time. He was our most tidy and creative player in the second half too.

Jones defended very well alongside a strong and confident - if a little rash - Tuanzebe.

Matic didn’t look a shadow of McT, who took on his role second half, and Rojo gave an archetypical Rojo performance, barring the own goal and red card.

Of the kids, James did well in close quarters but struggled to use his pace against a very deep and packed defence, AWB looked assured defensively and going forward, Greenwood was menacing when he grew into the game and hit both the post and side-netting, Chong was much quieter and looked lightweight.

Gomes would have been the pick with his movement and short passing, if JAMES GARNER hadn’t come on to steal the show. Superb ten minute cameo from him.

Really think James is going to be better against the top half sides when they aren’t just defending deep. He was brilliant for example against City for Swansea.

Will be surprised if Matic lasts long as starting DM if he starts the season how he ended it. McT will take it, or maybe even your lad Garner by the end of the season if he impresses in the cups!

Like Martial.

He started up top and just hasn’t got the movement or care with the ball working in tight spaces to deal with packed defences. He’s much better off receiving the ball deeper and having a bit of space to build up some steam running at people.
