When there are votes you get people from other boards voting. When there are comments they can't hide that. Anonymous votes are stupid.

If you read the link then you can't say the votes aren't a fair reflection of the comments in that thread.

The idea is that people comment on threads and the vote is additional opinion to the comments themselves and therefore cannot possibly be stupid, in my humble opinion.

So you agree? Anonymous votes are stupid. They don't give a true reflection of opinions, which is evidenced here without the voting system when people have given the true reflection.

I'm sure sometimes they give a fair reflection and sometimes they don't, depending on who voted. Most things in life aren't certain like that. It was never intended to not be stupid or vice versa, its just there.

That certainly doesn't make them stupid though as an additional feature on a football discussion website. It's smart and creative of the admins to have it.

What I would agree is stupid is placing scientific weight and relevance on it, for the reasons you stated. The substance is the article itself in which people also commented.

Basically, both articles have comments but mine has comments and also a vote which is neither stupid nor harmful but instead adds to the excitement and improves your experience on the site.

But yes, if you're expecting a poll on an online forum to be a true reflection of opinion among Liverpool fans then indeed, you are stupid.
