While most of the under 23 s are promising footballers they will not get us promoted Bielsa Ithink is depending on them too much.I think you need seasoned pros to get us out of this league .And the penny has not yet dropped.I despair that it ever will.AR out and I hope he takes Orta with him .

People here weren't around or have forgotten about our last run out in the Champions league!..
That was one hell of a young team that managed the semi final and play the league together!..
Bull crap when people blame the youths for last seasons ending, there were enough older players in the team!..
If a youth is good enough he should rightly be used, Smith, Milner, Rooney and many more started of as youths coming in from the academy's!..
Lorimer started off for us as a 15 year old!..

That young team you're talking about lost in the semi-final so, er, what point are you making exactly?

It depends if the seasoned pros are good enough.
If we are relying on Berardi and Forshaw we are in big trouble just like last season.
More minutes for example Shackleton would have been more successful.
I worry about Bielsa and his obsession with some players that aren’t up to the job.

Berardi and Forshaw may be on the older end but they haven't been anywhere or won trophies. I'm talking about players who've played at the highest level - for example, I believe Cahill would be perfect for us.

We had subs benches for the last 3or4 matches like a kindergarten team not their fault that they couldn't get us out of a hole we needed seasoned pros .Over to you AR.

Lorralorimer, that "young" team is one that a lot around here say is there favorite team, its one that got us to the semis and at the same time played well in the League, so, as far as I see it it was a young team that did what people here are making out a young team cant do!..
Donn, still trying to work out how the kids were to blame for not getting us over the line, they were part of the team that got us to the line!..
It was that last game that crapped it up, and the mistakes made in that game were all down to older players, not the kids!..
Its just the same old crap we didn't make it so point the finger, problem is the finger should be pointed elsewhere, maybe in the direction of the older players that crapped it up!..

Experienced championship players > Youth
Just ask Sheff United. They signed 2 time promotion winner Norwood for 2 million and Egan for 4. Shackleton looked lost in that second leg, Forshaw was missed badly when the going got tough. Finger needs pointing not at the players, but at the owner and manager for getting BOTH transfer windows wrong.

Need experience but if at 20 you aren’t good enough to play in Leeds Uniteds first team then you will never be good enough,

Donn is right in that our benches for last few matches were packed with U23 players.
With so few nw first team players coming in, one can only assume that Bielsa has the confidence in these young players to achieve this season's goal which must surely be promotion.
These young players should really have no energy issues, but will their physical condition last the season (remember Aidan White's cramps)?
If he can do it with our youth forming a major part of side would be really wonderful, but we have very little experienced cover, and I would hate to see Pablo out injured and we're trying to replace his guile with a 19 year old who has never played a match in Championship for example.

Shackleton looks a good player to me. Needs more game time and needs to be spared the curse of being young and able to perform in a number of positions.
Our shortfalls last season were across the team and across all levels of experience towards the end. I didn't see too many senior players particularly inspiring the youngsters.
We need a blend of youth and experience.

Spot on Germany, the kids didn’t cost us promotion, it was the seasoned pros and Bielsa along with January (whoever was to blame for that )
In fact the kids should have played more rather than some poor seasoned pros.

And Norwich got promoted with some of their star players being young academy products, and many others who had never played in this division before.
Your point?
