What is Happening?

........ At Pride Park.

There has been no post since 16 July. Frank is in Japan now so I imagine any loan deals (if any) are in abeyance until he gets back to Stamford Bridge. I find that a bit disappointing.

In trying to find out any further news I had a look at the dcfc website. That took me to looking at two Under 23 games, No1 - we lost 2-3 to Sheff Wednesday and also we lost 1-2 to Wigan. In both games the standard of football was very poor, From Sheff Wed and Wigan as well as Derby. It may just have been early season lethargy and not being match fit. But, for sure, what I saw augers very poorly for the new season.

Does anybody have any good news to impart?

The Hebchick was there and thought we were pretty average - and she is a Hearts fan!

Its not rocket science to understand that this team wont threaten top half let alone top 6

I didn't see the game yesterday but it was all a very predictable outcome against a poor team

With the start to the season we have I can see a relegation battle this season unless we get at least 3 players better than we currently have in key positions

It’s not negative to have eyes that see where the problems are in the current squad. If we as fans can see it then we must assume the coaching staff see it. The problem is we have been too slow in the market and time is now running out to bring in anyone that is going to make an impact.

From all indications, it seems the club strategy is to develop what we already have, in the current squad and the youngsters. inevitably that will not be spectacular or quick. We had better get used to it. Give Coku time. HE AS TO KEEP US IN THE CHAMPIONSHIP this season and win it next season.

Harper! You know you will simply not be able to keep away. And really things are not so bad are they? I admit we are in an anticlimactic doldrums with Lampard, Wilson, Tomori and Mount all gone. But we have a man who sounds like an experienced and successful manager in Philip Coku. He's just feeling his way - both team wise and division wise. We have to give him a season with goodwill and hope from all of us. It is good that he is looking carefully at what he has. There might be some gems around, especially in the academy or U23's and from such as Anya, Martin, Holmes etc.

That brings me to the most worrying bit about yesterday's game. Where was Marriott? It looks likely that he is being negotiated over for moving on. And that is a pity. There looks to be huge striking potential in there somewhere. His attitude in general and in training must be in doubt. I would hate to see him scoring freely elsewhere.

Cocu has to deal with what he has at his disposal, I don’t blame him for that, he knew what he was taking on.

I detect a case of slight anxiety and frustration amongst the Faithful.

I remember last year when we took Wolves apart in a pre-season friendly.

They went on to very well I understand and are now playing in a European competition.

If we don't have a decent season then the talented players will want to leave. We have to strengthen our current side and not just hope that some of the academy players step up to a higher level.

BBC Sport have a promotion predictor - well worth a look and feel free to vote. Needless to say I have us as champions, with an honourable mention for Leeds and Fulham who both have an outside chance

Fulham and Huddersfield haven’t been significantly weakened so they must be up there as favourites

If Zooom and Tommy are in the starting 11 next Monday I reckon we will go down. We cannot afford to play with 9 men. My spies tell me Tommy was worse than last season and doesn't appear to want to play. (Just saying what I've been told!)
I am surprised that Huddz is in contention, far too slow.

Any road up, 7 days to go till the big push. UTR.
