Pre-season 2019

So, football is back! Watched the Minnesota game last night, a satisfying 3-0 win. Dean Smith said after the match he wasn't happy with some bits of it, but they'd be working on those. I thought it was good for the first match, and the first with the new signings playing. Plenty of positives.

Most players came through it well. Steer looked as solid as ever, Kalinic also looked good. CBs were Konsa and Hause in the first half and Chester and Mings in the second, and all did pretty well except one Mings mistake. Guilbert had a good half game, and as well as our usual stars both Lansbury and Bjarnason had good games, as did new signings Wesley and Jota.

Only real weaknesses I thought were Hogan looking anonymous and Davis looking not good enough. Green did a brilliant cross for the third goal but needs to do that more often, O' Hare looked lively but hampered a bit by his size being knocked off the ball a couple of times.

All three goals were class. Grealish was a brilliant solo effort from outside the box, Lansbury a superb strike from Guilbert's pass, and Barney a killer header from Green's cross.
