Wolves v Crusaders Match Preview [LIVE]

Date: Thursday 25.07.19
Venue: Molineux
Kick-off: 19.45

For their first Europa League game, Wolves’ opponents are Crusaders FC.
Wolves enter the competition at the second qualifying round whilst Crusaders sailed through the previous round, beating opponents B36 Tórshavn 5-2 on aggregate over 2 legs.

Crusaders are based in Belfast and play their home games at the Seaview Stadium which they share with Newington FC. The stadium has a capacity of 3,383.
The first leg of this round will be at Molineux which will give the home crowd the chance to see Wolves in European competition for the first time in 19 years.
If Wolves’ foreign players had previously found the British weather somewhat challenging after what they were used to in their home countries, returning to England will surely be a blessed relief for them after the stifling 30-degree heat and 90% humidity of China from where they have just returned bringing with them the Premier League Asia Trophy after beating champions Man City 3-2 on penalties in the final on Saturday.

Jiminez and Saiss back in training this week but unlikely to be starters on Thursday. Maybe on the bench.

Matt Doherty won’t feature against Crusaders though as he is still struggling with a knee injury

After today's events I imagine you will be looking to get back to the UK to live as quickly as possible anyway Gem

Actually Gem, can we all come and live with you?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I know Wolfie has room and will gladly help out.

Actually Cinci, if our move goes ahead we'll be going from a 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house to a 2/2 condo and going from our screened porch to a balcony. So no room at Wolfie's Inn.

I guess if Doherty isn't fit, then Traore will start at right wing back, rather than switch Jonny and play Vinagre on the left.

There are some who think Wolves have a chance of winning on Thursday. One bookmaker has Wolves at 1/125 and Crusaders at 100/1

Something new at Molineux on Thursday. Nothing can be bought inside the ground for cash. All purchases must be made by contactless card.

Money has a limited lifespan it seems

The U23s face the considerable challenge of playing away at both Kidderminster and Hereford tonight. The academy players will be split between the two venues so most will get a game somewhere. Sounds like there will be games for a couple of our forgotten friends like Jordan Graham and Harry Burgoyne.

The game at Hereford is a testimonial for former Wolves youngster Ryan Green who has spent most of his time playing for the Bulls but started as a youngster at Wolves. Tipped to be a future star at one stage at Molineux when he took the record off Ryan Giggs for being the youngest player ever to represent Wales.
