Expectations for the Champions of Europe

next Season

I would expect something similar again, the squad hasn't changed too much and we're likely to see a few more additions.

For me staying competitive in the PL and CL are the main goals.

I don't give a monkeys about the domestic cups however a good cup run would be nice providing we play the kids.

what say you

We shouldn't risk playing our key players in the domestic cups.

The FA cup is, I'm afraid, a slightly more glamorous league cup.

Play the young lads and leave the senior team to fight for the CL and title.

I expect us to compete for both the CL and PL. If we're not loaning a load of players out again we could maybe get through the first few rounds of the cups and compete for them too.

yep all depends on the luck of the draw, if we get a kind draw in the domestic cups early then who knows where it will lead us.

Fa cup, Uefa Super Cup and Club World Cup all won.

Another decent effort in the league points wise- 85+
Won't be enough to win it though.

Decent effort in defending our European Crown- quarters/semis perhaps.

Would take that now if offered

It's been a while since we won the FA cup and I think it's a great competition so let's try do it.

Really not bothered by the league cup or FA cup they are nothing cups. Nobody outside of the premiership takes it seriously. You attract players by winning the league and the CL

Our full focus should be on these 2 again.

first off there won't be a "few"

we will have
ox
brewster
lallana

aka klopps list.

lallana is already out

everyone knows I create Jones as a cm too.

ki I think is ready now... larouci is a bit of a find but not ready fully.

we might buy 1... according to some press men I'd listen to.

so expectations?
top 4 yes, league no.
cl last 16 yes, cl final? no.
cup run yes, win a cup doubt it.

We can't be favourites for a league title where.man city have the top 2 record points totals of all time in last 2 year's and have spent again a massive amount getting more players. We should be hot favourites for top 4 with city and can challenge them though.

.in short we still need a lot of luck with players fitness so we will see

btw... I do care about domestic cups.

I care a lot.

offer me top 4 and a league cup or fa cup and I'd take it.... We can talk all we like but this top 6 is really tough so while we'd like to be top dogs all the time I'd rather be winning something than just 2nd.

of.course league title is most desired

We could do with drawing a non PL team for once. That hasn't happened since January 2017.

If City lost Laporte or Ederson they'd be fvcked. They're very light at LB to although Zinchenko seems to have kicked on.

Every team is susceptible to injuries and at the end of the day you can only have a 25 man squad, 8 of those have to be HG and 4 of those have to have been trained at the club.

There really isn't much wriggle room.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The only player I think City cant replace is Ederson and even then, Im starting to think even if he was out for a whole season City would challenge for the league.

For 2 seasons now City have proved they can cope without some key players and still smashed the 90 point barrier.

Season 2: without a recognised Left back for the entire season 100 points
Season 3: without a recognised left back, lost Fernandinho for at least 9 games, their best player out for the entire season but still won the league.

We always point to their squad but in my estimation the % advantage the City squad have over the Liverpool & United squad is no more than 15%. Crucial obviously as Liverpool lost by a single point but as shown in the gap between City and United last season and the gap between City and Liverpool in the previous season Peps coaching makes up for most of the disparity.

Look at it this way, if City can win 12 games straight in a high pressure Premier League title race against the best Liverpool team in the PL era whilst competing on 4 fronts without their best player and gundogan playing in place of Fernandinho then you kinda need them to really drop off from the last 2 seasons to have a chance.

Will be an interesting race though
