Anfield road end clues

After months of people saying the same thing finally we have senior people at the club letting a few details out.

a) Werner confirms in interview with half naked girl that the club is still looking at the stadium

b) Peter moores blurts out the fact that the september planning will lapse and the club is looking at more capacity.

I've heard these rumblings for months upon months that this was the case. The figure 63,000 has been out there for a long while.

But....

It raises a question.

Why would you build a lovely approx 17,000 capacity GA stand, all brand new with much improved views and then leave the home fans with a Kop end thats 12,500 approx which isn't all that new and when you get up the back end of it its well... less than its residents deserve.

the ground's space and layout constrains us into the size of the kop. It'll be quite odd seeing away fans having "the bigger end" potentially and how we can actually make that work for cups etc.

I think this was always going to be an issue once the Stanley Park plans were binned. I dunno. The kop will always be the kop now and I like that.

I'm glad we stayed at Anfield. The Kop should stay as it is capacity wise. Not sure if they could refurbish areas and look at ways of improving the view at the back.

Each stand has its own difficulties and quirks.

The new main stand has some shocking seats. the top tier is nose bleed territory and almost apart but I'd hope an anfield road end at same height would help that

Space between rows on kop and views from the back are nothign to write home about.

The anfield road end.... some views are frankly shocking and sometimes you'd wonder how its not collapsed, esp where it needed to be strengthened arfter opening.

The centeneray end ahs as extreme a rake as possible and honestly is the prime location to add 3rd tier but it will never happen as houses on that side were sold back to community on promise it'd not come back.

You'd wonder at the time with the main stand still, even though its unique etc why they didn't plan this all more together such that corners could fill in more.

I just hope i see this final final anfield open in klopps tenure.... but i doubt it somehow.

My seat in the Centenary is second tier and it is as steep as you can get. Decent view though. Without an overhanging tier the 3rd would back onto the houses. Extend Anfield Rd to bring capacity to 60,000 odd and that’ll be that.

it is the max rake possible as I recall. not been up there for years. I can't see us being able to extend it.

slight exaggeration but the video of interview with Werner is on lfc website.

she might as well have sat in his lap it was in fairness a bit day but she might as well have thrown herself at him.... not that she did and of course I'm a terrible misogynist for even suggesting it

You can just build the new Anfield Road stand over the road as at other grounds. Load of space there. 60k+ even if bigger than the Kop. Teh Kop will always be the Kop even if it is the smallest stand. Away fans won't get a bigger allocation just because the stand's bigger.
