Looks like this deal is on the verge of happening. He’s a guy I did an article about last summer and I’m glad we’re going for him. He’s a tall but skillful guy who is strong but also very clever. He plays mainly in the number 8 role but he’s one of those modern midfield types who can do a bit of everything. Imagine a Pogba - but with actual heart and a desire to play for United.
Should be around £70 million which is a lot cheaper than what the suggested price for him last season would have been - around £150 million.
Think Pogba will be off once SMS signs - probably to Real who have a bit more time with their transfer window as far as I’m aware.

If we got Savic for £70m, with the way the market has gone even since Pogba signed, it's not the same pressure price tag imo. Spurs just spent that on Ndombele or a few million less, Pool spent a big wedge on Keita.
The PL is tough, I would always give someone a season to bed in.

Spurs week pay close to that after add ons. Keita went for around as much as Fred. Both those two were poor, with Fred being singled out more due to how poorly we did. So there is pressure, plus this being United, your underestimating our fans and press expectations.

Did you not think we did that against Spurs first half, Mike? (I know, preseason, Spurs have played two fewer games, etc.)
We’re capable of it, for sure. Maybe not against the big boys; but with the players we have and the right approach, we already have the ability to boss games and the centre of the park, IMO.

Was poor defending too, but he made the most of it with the control. Ball was played into him at pace as well
