in my opinion....
we still don't create enough chances or shots
wingbacks are essential to our ability to open up teams
Lo Celso and Sessgnon (if we are signing them) need to arrive soon to integrate into squad.
what have we learnt from pre-season?
posted on 26/7/19
Can't learn too much from pre-season friendlies with tonnes of changes, and assuming we're still yet to sign players, an incomplete squad.

Sandy.. its all about fitness right now ... match practice .. Poch needs to learn where we have fallen down previous seasons and work on those areas but i fear he has not
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I agree it is all about fitness, but he seems to be getting the Youth team fit, whilst a lot of the first team are sitting on the bench. I don`t get it. Sure give the boys a bit of experience, but don`t be starting them. He has plenty of first teamers on tour, to start first teamers, and substitute them with first teamers. It is the first team that needs getting fit, not the youth team.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I know that a lot of youth players were involved in the last two games, but I am sure you must have noticed from these games that we can now extend the defenders to include Tanganga and bolster attack with Parrott. By playing them in this kind of games, you get an idea of their temperatment
Tanganga/Parrott look very good prospects and it means we have the necessary backups in those
areas within the system.
I wouldn't mind seeing Parrott as backup rather than re-sign Llorente
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yes mate, I get that, I was very impressed with Parrott, and Tanganga did OK, but I still think the current first teamers should be getting the majority of pre season. Possibly they may in the games to come, but I still think Spurs will be going into the new season undercooked as usual.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
it is so annoying Sandy that other clubs seem to get thier buisness sorted early and then Spurs are notoriously slow starters, does this have to be ? I suppose its the Levy way wait and wait and hope for buy 1 get 1 free, but it does affect our start to the season, especially when Poch wont introduce new comers until he has had 6 months with them
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Spurs got Ndombele early too?
Lo Celso was busy playing in a tournament and then we had to wait for Betis to sign a backup before any transfers.
Sessegnon is currently injured and wouldn't pass the medical, as he would have to get on a threadmill with his pegs too
Ok, who?

Sandy, come on me old mucker, you should know Levy by now?
He doesn't do anything by rushing in and paying double or even what the price is
He's been proven right though?
Fekir almost cost Liverpool over £50 but he was snapped up by Betis for £22.5m...Jumpin gin there and buying almost always you pay the "mug" price though you do get what you wanted
Betis have dropped Lo Celso price too, as they now have a surplus of players with Fekir joining.
Be patient, grasshopper

On a serious note, that's one announcement I would love
The player wants to stay and is cutting short his holiday to join up with his team mates but Sarri is adamant that he is surplus to requirements.
Juve are ready to listen to offers of at least €90m euros.
Spurs can definitely match the players wages at Juve, at £120m a week ,ok>
But having just spent €60m on Ndombele, it will be interesting to see we can match that and how much we really have in budget terms.

I meant £120k a week. Talks of us offering £200k a week to the player?

Lyon wanted £70m for NDombele. We saigned him for £53.5m.
Whoever else we are buying off will be asking similarly high selling prices. Lo Celso, also £70m. Seriously OTT asking price for a young player who's had his break through season.
Save £15m on that asking price and £15m on NDombeles asking price, and we've paid £30m less, which maybe money we do have or may be money that can go on another player, or go towards mega deals for Eriksen & Toby
We have a settled and quality first XI (albeit FBs need addressing). We dont need Lo Celso fully up to speed for the first game, or Dybala etc. There's no panic to buy now. It will be a failure if we end the window without players we'll need to get through the season.
