Is the PL transfer business calming?
Last season the summer record was £1,5 billion in transfers.
With the summer transfer window closing in less than two weeks, Thursday August 8, the spend to date is 'only' £784 million. About half of the record last season.
Has the marked out-priced itself and clubs are now spending less and more wisely?

A lot can happen in the next two weeks, but I doubt it will break the record and I doubt it will go over a billion this season.

Liverpool have cover for all positions. Not City quality cover but cover. So I imagine if we sell squad players we will then spend to provide better quality cover. There isn't really one position I would change in the first team. With Ox and Gomez back from injury, we should be stronger anyhow.

So if Lukaku and Dybala swap clubs, will it go down as an £80m-ish spend, or a £0 spend..?

£80m for Dybala? Maybe a few years ago when he was a hot prospect and played regularly. Career has stalled since then.

Still feels as if there’s significant deals to be done - interested to see if that materialises or if clubs hold off and call the bluff of those asking silly money.
