Very disappointed in him. He could have either stayed at Madrid and fought to get his place back or taken a bit of a pay cut and played for a top English team.

Obviously he has the medals at Madrid, but the way he didn't even atempt to understand the culture of even learn the language was pretty disgraceful. He also seemed to develop a massive ego over there. I do think with his talent he should have made more of his career, which he has ended if he is off to China

culturally and linguistically spain is a fellow european nation to britain

adapting to spanish culture and language in the grand scheme of things for a brit, shouldnt be too difficult or so much of a culture shock

imagine him in china !!

culturally and linguistically far far removed from britain

Disappointed in Bale for this decision.

I suppose we don’t know how much his hand has been forced by clubs not being able to agree a deal without madrid, but surprised he wants his career to end like this.

Disappointed in someone who was one of my favourite players at spurs. What happened to wanting to win the ballon dor?

At least I won’t have to see him in a city or United shirt I suppose.

Such a waste. Could have been a legend at spurs, instead he’s just another player at real.

Good luck to him and it is his own choices. Not sure why people are moaning about it, especially he has won many trophies that other player can only dream of winning

Nice work if you can get it, but I am surprised Bale is not willing to return to the PL on a reduced wage, after all he has no medals in English football.

He already has more money than him or his family could ever spend, so this move comes across as sheer greed sadly, which is a shame because Bale is a Spurs legend and it would have been nice to see him remain in one of Europe`s top leagues.

He is being forced out so he is entitled to go wherever. But its clear his wage demands means his choices are limited in regards to level of football.

In a couple of years time he could have been on for this type of move and payday anyway. Maybe not as much but still comfortable for a retirement plan.

So for the next couple years he could have played for nothing and gone wherever he wanted, still playing at a high level if he still loved football.
