Where’s our new RB, or LB? Worrying

Getting increasingly concerned that we won’t be buying a proven Right Back to replace Trippier. Seriously can Poch think we can have a successful season without a proven RB who can defend well, has a good sense of positioning and can get through a game (or few) without giving away a penalty kick? Foyth, Aurier or KWP are good squad players at best, not First Team quality. Do you think there a proven RB in the transfer pipeline coming to WHL? Leaving it late, no rumours at all.
Similarly, if Rose departs we rely only on Davies and will be sunk.
The Ndombele signing was exciting, however it has been apparent to most Spurs fans for a couple of years that a good RB is a priority!!

Hoping Aurier is this year's Sissoko. Big hope but we have a manager who has a good track record in this area.

Due to his pace and strength in comparison to Foyth and KWP he is the our best option when we come up against the likes of Mane and Sane. Same old story though...can he stay fit?

City away second game of the season. We may learn quite a bit by then about our full back situation and indeed this team. If we have any realistic hopes of challenging for the title, which we should have, we probably can't afford to lose this game.

You think you’re are gonna be involved in a title challenge

Have you learned nothing from last season
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You are a cancer to this website.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Edbo, I quite like Pranks, he is not nasty, and is always up for a bit of banter. That is fine with me.

I am up in Liverpool in a couple of weeks, apparently he has promised to take me for a pint.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

"He just posts constant, childish, provocative crap with no substance. He's the scouse Sizzle.

------

So those comments above have no substance, how about your last full season

----------------------------------------------------------------------

You literally went from fourth with seventy odd points to second with nearly 100 points and a season long title challenge you weapon.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

To do that we needed to strengthen GK and CB. We did that by signing probably two of the best in that position in the world. Spurs seem a long way from that at the moment.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

We've addressed arguably our weakest position last season, CM, with what should be a quality signing. And the window isn't shut yet.

Your own clubs improvements last season go against what Pranks said.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I doubt Pranks meant that nobody can ever go from x to y. There are always things that can allow you to do that and spending money on very good players to fix the issues that you had is obviously the way to do that. Have Spurs yet?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is my point, they haven't addressed all the weaknesses they need to address to bridge the gap.

Full backs being the biggest concern for me.

Let's be honest, it was a wind up comment wasn't it.

But I'd be surprised if many Spurs fans are expecting a title challenge this year. Hoping perhaps, but not expecting?

Liverpool's lack of investment so far arguably leaves them open to an injury crisis, but then Klopp has done such a good job bringing youngsters forward that maybe he feels he has the necessary cover.

Fair enough.

Personally I don't think you can rule anything out because of one fixture, particularly when it's the second game of the season!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Doesn't really matter if it's the second or the 30th. If you're expecting to challenge for the title you know it's going to involve City, so any game against them is going to be huge.

Huge game, yes.

Defining for your season? No, not in my view.

It depends on the rest of this window and if we get our targets and strengthen. We're not going to become title challengers by just adding Ndombele you wouldn't have thought.

We should by all means be going for the title challenge, as we are pretty much in the same position Liverpool were in going into last season. It's up to Levy to have the balls to improve us enough.

If anyone other than City are looking to win the league then they have to be looking at getting maximum points from them and the other top sides taking points off them to.

You could look at us only getting one point from the 2 fixtures against them as a factor in where the title ended up.

Fair point, but I think last year was exceptional and unlikely to be repeated this year.

Yeah I think what's more realistic is that City race ahead of everyone again. That's why you'd need to take as many points off them as you can.

Remember I'm not saying we're going to be in a title challenge, just that if we were we'd likely need to get something out of them.

Personally I think it's possible to mount a challenge but lose at their ground.

But it's all a bit of a moot point, as you say, because I think they'll probably romp home!
