Roofe on his way

to Anderlecht by the look of it. Serious interest at £7M according to Phil Hay.

Think they'll be using more or less what Bielsa already has, but, money now in, it could be the ace come January and a final push!..

As long as nobody does a Bates or upsets any Judges!..

Burnley end saying deal for Vydra to Leeds looks likely.

Don’t shoot the messenger

That would be a hell of a signing.

He is quality at this level.

Had a bit of a hard time at Burnley but before that he was one of the best in the devision and in all fairness should still be

Looms what happens when you bring in players on wages over and above what we can afford / what they are worth.

I’m sorry. We should SERIOUSLY have a rule / wage cap at the club. If what we offer isn’t enough so be it.

In our position £25k is the absolute most we should pay per week.

Unfortunately (and rightly so) our better players want parity with team mates, big deep black hole.

It is why I said a month ago we should sell
Bamford and Kiko.

Unfortunately it’s not like the knowledge these players were on 40k a week suddenly disappears when they leave.

Contract negotiations change from i want to be paid the same as those two to I want what you were willing
To offer those two to get them here.

Bringing in those two on those wages was a gamble that didnt pay off as we didn’t go up.

And unfortunatly there will be further fallout as a result of losing that gamble

Except they don’t have to see them everyday in training....

If I knew someone was paid more than me and I am better than them, seeing them everyday breeds resentment. If they aren’t there then I am not reminded everyday.

Stupid question but if Roofe is injured would he pass a medical?

If we were signing him, absolutely.

It did cross my mind to say something similar......

You don’t pass or fail a medical it’s not that simple.

A medical would bring up the fact that he currently has an injury, what the extent of it is, as well as expected recovery time.

It’s not like football manager where he has a little red box near his name so no matter how good he is you can’t sign him.

As long as the medical doesn’t pull up that he has something like an enlarged heart or that his injury is likely to mean they can’t get insurance for him then the deal will go through as expected
