Dier...CB or DM?

Strange that he did so well that first season as a DM and now people are saying he isn't up to it as a DM.

He's filled out since then - doesnt have the mobility for it anymore, isn't Press resistant at all because of his complete lack of agility

DM for me, gets the ball forward quickly and accurately

DM, or CB in a back three. Just a little too prone to brainfarts to be relied upon in a centre back pairing imo.

He doesn't really excel in either position. He played his best football between the two, when you interchanged from a back-four to a back-three.

Yeah I agree with that. Wanyama had some of his best games dropping in to make a back three also. Poch seems to have moved away from this tactic though.

I'm not sure it's down to the fullbacks - Trippier was better in midfield and Rose gets up and down the wing well. I think it's more down to Dier and Wanyama's injuries/form.

Yeah Dele shouldn't be dropping back at all. Ndombele should fix that.

Dier is a useful squad player, can play CB, RB and DM. I think it would be a bad move to get rid of him.

This, look at him in his first season to what he is now is quite different.

He’s to slow now due to his size to get about like he used too.

Not bad as a emergency DM but not the choice we should be making regularly
