Trippier

seeing as monopoly guy has off loaded Trips and there is no sign of a new RB arriving until 2099 would anyone have been happy to have had him stay until we had purchased a new one ?

Order of preference

1. Play KWP there
2. Play Aurier there
3. Play Sissoko there
4. Play Foyth there

We should never have sold Kyle Walker, in hindsight.

He would probably have stayed, if we hadn’t have messed him around, by playing Trippier in the important games.

We haven’t been the same without him... Trippier, Aurier,KWP & Foyth aren’t good or quick enough, in the right back position.

I would be very surprised if we find someone as good or quick enough to replace Walker ☹️

Aurier is meant to be fast , yet to see it personally.

As for Trips... I think he can count himself a bit unlucky considering Sissoko was total dogshlt for 3.5 years after a much bigger transfer outlay and much bigger wages.... Same goes for Lamela. There must have been something personal going on..... It cannot just be down to footballing reasons

Seeing as Sissoko has been with us for under 3years & was only poor in his first season, think you need to review of him, don’t you?

With regard to Walker, we had no chance of keeping him. He has doubled his wages and has a couple of PL winners medals to show for it

Anyone saying Trippier didn’t go for footballing reasons, clearly is wearing rose tinted glasses o/or didn’t watch him closely enough last season. Some stated he was just a scapegoat at times. He was awful.

I would attribute more individual errors to Trippier than any other spurs player. Especially last season. No loss.

On a positive note I have been more and more impressed with KWP. Seems to be progressing in both quality and confidence. Just needs to bulk out a bit and allow Poch to work his FB makeover magic.

eh?

he lost his runner for the Inter goal, and gave the ball away in a dangerous area for their shot that hit the post....

considering that we should be trying to win the league, he is quite clearly not up to the standard required and is a clear, clear weak link

——————

He is at least being more offensively aggressive with his dribbling. Which we have lacked since Walker. I ain’t saying he is our 1st choice RB.

Imo if KWP gets 10/15 starts in the cups and weaker opposition in the PL and he will come good next season. By which time he will only have turned 23. The age Walker and Rose starting showing their true worth.
--------------------------------------------------------------------

exactly why he needs a loan (and has needed one for ages). let him make all his mistakes for some mid table club where the stakes aren't as high.

we cannot afford to have defenders constantly making errors if we want to achieve anything this season. he had a decent game yesterday but was still at fault for the goal and lucky to not give away another goal.... pretty much says it all.

Chronic we both know that not how Poch rolls. Loan deals usually mean your time at Spurs is over.
