I think it depends largely on how Ole depends to set us up in the majority of games (if we’re playing with the diamond every other week, he won’t get a look in) and how he takes his chances when he gets them.

If we go 4-2-3-1, regardless of Ole’s expectations, we’re going to watch a lot of games in which we have fack all of the ball and are forced deep, which might actually suit him, because he has the potential to form part of a devastating counter attack.

I think that he will be used off the bench in the last 15-20 minutes when the game is stretched and fancy him to grab a few goals on the break.

Hasn't he been mainly used on our left this preseason or have I got that wrong? I haven't seen any preseason but I just can't see him taking our right side (not right now anyway).

He played on the left and right of the 4-2-3-1, and on the left side of midfield in the diamond (which was strange).

If he doesn't contribute 20 goals and assists he's going to get dogs abuse.

I think he'll play more than most on here think. Think he'll win a lot of free kicks etc.

I don't think he'll be spectacular yet but over the season I do expect that we'll be at our most effective when he's on the pitch.

In the games I saw him we looked far better when he played. He ran at the fullback at every opportunity.

We looked better when Gomes, Greenwood, James were on the pitch in place of Martial, Lingard and Mata.

This is because we stopped just turning back from goal and passing it inwards, we were much more inclined to try and get behind defences.

Thought we looked best when we played Greenwood, James and Martial up top.

Forget who against. Spurs I think?

Our expectations have went more downhill than I thought. There was nothing brilliant from James, flashes of his pace certainly, and the fact that it actually looked like he tried, something a lot of the players in this squad failed miserably last season.
