Like many posters, I am feeling deflated after yet another failed opportunity to boost our club and make a statement of intent. It's so predictably LUFC, isn't it? It's like going out to a Michelin restaurant and just ordering the starters. But have we been listening to our club's owner and management team?
Radz is first and foremost a business man. He's 30 million better off now than he was a month ago. I would be interested to find out if he has put in more than he has taken out, and to see how much LUFC is worth, compared to when he bought the club. But if we get promoted, I don't really give a sh!t.
Whether by accident or by design, the club is in a much better position now than it was 12 months ago. We have to assume that Bielsa sanctioned these signings and it's not as though we haven't had fair warning that we had done 90% of our spending before this window opened.
As fans, we feel disappointed because we don't get players who appear, on the surface, to be proven at this level, but I remember feeling exactly the same way this time last year.
It would be nice to think there is a contingency fund for January, but I do not think our management have that much foresight. LUFC are just a part of a bigger picture for Radz. He probably wonders why people get so upset when his branding and promotion of LUFC actually works for his grand design. As for Orta, I would love to take that cellphone and shove it where the sun don't shine. But I do understand that they are businessmen first and we are not, so there is always going to be some tension between us.
That doesn't mean that our management aren't a bunch of penny-pinching, money-grabbing charlatans. It just means that we haven't been listening to what they have been saying.
Have we been listening?

We signed Helder Costa, who was a star turn in possibly the best Championship side ever a few years ago, and Jack Harrison, who played regularly for the side that finished third last season. The young striker we have signed is very highly thought of by people who know a lot more about football than most on here. The young CB we signed turned in a potential MOTM performance on his debut. We also have a stream of young talent entering the senior squad.
But it's been a dreadful window. Woe to Leeds. How will we cope?

At said 2 years ago he wanted to get into football to develop and sell players, it’s just fans don’t listen to it, they think owners will become fans etc etc
I think Orta’s set up for recruiting is good. Fir a prem club, we’re not a prem club, we simply cannot sustain those costs and then ultimately despite the setup being good the execution is really really poor.
Finally the issues like the badge, the centenary shirts etc just shows a huge disconnect with fans and We’re left at the mercy of Kinnear telling us it’s all going according to plan.
It’s like those adverts trying to con old people into selling their house for equity release, angus Kinnear should be advertising those on tv as it’s the same proposition he’s selling to us in terms of getting g rid of our assets and replacing them with expensive loans.
We’ve been really shortchanged by the owner this time, maybe this groundbreaking tie up with 49ers will finally have an impact this season.

Orta's recruitment is p**s poor. I grant you that Prem clubs can afford a scatter gun approach and absorb the cost of all the misses but really! His hit rate is abysmal. Bringing in U23s and moving them on for a small profit (or loss) without ever kicking a ball for the first team might be good business but it will never get us promoted.

I think the model is good for prem clubs as hey have the resources and the hit rates should be better.
We dont have the resources we don’t have good hit rates.

------------
what issue with the badge exactly? - do you mean the badge that the club listened to the fans and pulled out of? - how disconnecting of the club
The shirt that a lot like, I think its ok personally, just becasue you don't like it, doesn't mean its disconnecting with the fans... other fans have opinions you know - my opinion is that we should of gone with blue and yellow for the centenary shirt, Leeds colours, just seems more fitting, but I don't mind the grey and pink at all..
why must you complain at everything and anything? FFS give it a rest

I think the record sales of the away shirt suggest a clear disconnect between the club and the fans tbh.

Record sales on away shirts?..
I think that's because when Leeds fans are at the end of our Centenary year unhappy and are in their Cities, Towns, Villages or where ever drowning their sorrows other fans from all over can see the Pink in their headlights and have a better chance off avoiding them!..
We wouldn't want to be blamed for damaging other fans cars on top off everything else we seem to get done for do we?.
