Derby County 0 - 0 Swansea City

Derby County v Swansea City

10 Aug 2019

After a totally satisfying victory over ex premier league Huddersfield, we now turn our attention to the first of foreign teams to play us here in the league.

Florest suffered a slight hiccup in their race for the promotion by Christmas but are content in the knowledge that they still have over 60 players to choose from.

So, TL has finally shown us what he can do but didn't he show us that once last season and the season before? Clarke looks a bit of beast but can he sustain that? Keogh, the old war horse is still performing and it was good to see Scot Malone back.

Can't see any changes for us against Swansea, Bielik is not available but it will be interesting to see if Holmes will feature somewhere.

Hope springs eternal after an impressive start - yes, there is room for improvement from individuals but give it time.

Sounds like on another day it might have been a 1-0 n move on game.

We have 3 in Martiott Bielik and Holmes to come back fully fit

Yep more time to gell too.

We only need to be in contention by January when we will be strengthened by easily the best player in the Championship. No more Darren Bents, Andy Kings or Kasey Palmers to underwhelm us.

Wow, works for me!

What if he gets crocked like the King?

Best get 13 points ahead of everyone else for security sake.

The plan is not exclusive 2W. We should be as far ahead as possible - and then introduce Plan 32

Sounds like a plan.

Two bits of quality, Bogle's penalty which Waghorn then "spaffed up against the wall", and the combination between Flojo and Lawrence which unfortunately the goal keeper managed to save and then saved Malone's follow up which he should have buried. Otherwise a very average game. Swansea were happy with an undeserved point.

It defeats me why a penalty taker will insist on hitting the ball low. If the goalie guesses correctly - right or left - it is then possible, even relatively easy for him to save it. Give it a few feet of elevation and it is almost impossible to save it. It should be part of any penalty man's training and practise.

I totally agree Ramdini but I think the effect on the penalty taker's pride if they get it wrong and put it over the bar makes them err on the side of caution. Think about Roberto Baggio, had his penalty been saved in the world cup final I don't think he would have had half the grief he had for missing the goal completely. Either top corner with pace is unstoppable.
