As well as we did in the transfer window, it seems a lot of key squad members won't be ready for at least the first few weeks of the season.
Holding, Bellerin and Tierney - recovering from long term injuries.
Luiz - whilst fully fit, he's only just joined up and rumours are Emery might not select him for Sunday, which is understandable.
Pepe, Torreira and Guendouzi - came back late from internationals, not had much chance to train properly. Pepe seems to have been put on a strength program aswell which makes me think Emery won't start him any time soon. Maybe on the bench for the first few games.
Ozil and Kolasinac - what a kick in the nuts this is. Fack knows how long this situation will go on for, but their safety must come first.
Yuck. I certainly feel a little for Unai, but he really has to stretch and use all his resources now. Unlucky to have Liverpool and Spurs so early, but that's the way the cookie crumbles.
Gotta be patient for the first few weeks

GT, stop overusing the word 'nonce' and its derivatives. You arent A-rab.

Arsenal confirm that Tierney is more likely to be 4-6 weeks than 2 weeks. Oh dear Arsenal curse strikes again.
Cant believe that such behaviour can influence the team sheet. Surely this sets a new precedent, with the way certain Liverpool fans have acted in the past you can imagine they can throw a few death threats City's way before a match and rule out star players from that game.

GT, I was offered a knighthood for my services to beekeeping and charity work but I turned it down, in that way I am a ‘non sir’. In regards to Ozil and Kola, we should sell Ozil to the MLS to keep him safe, and keep Kola to wind that gang up and paranoid Tottenham fans.

So, hold on, you are not going to win the PL now then, or at least finish top 2 ? at the end of the transfer window, several of your lot were saying you were. or at least top 2 after such good business. Blimey make your minds up.

Losing Ozil isn't a massive loss to me. I still think that we're better without him.
Sad to lose Kola as I think Monreal is better now as a 3rd CB, but he's going to have to do a key job getting forward to support our attack from LB/LWB for the opening game at least. It will be interesting to see who starts RW.
The positive out of all this is that it gives one of our youngsters the opportunity to step up from the very beginning. I'm hoping it's Willock and that he can put in the performances to cement a position in the match day squad.

I dunno ron, Ozil in pre season looked like he was up for pressing from the front and was playing with a smile on his face. I was looking forward to seeing if he was up for it against Newcastle.
Agree with you about Kolasinac though, I thought Emery would start the first few games with a back 3.
Also agree about Willock. Really think he deserves to start tomorrow.

I think Tierney's injury clears up in about a week or so, he needs training.

I'd love it if Ozil could make that change. Maybe Emery leaving him out of the side so often last season + bringing in more quality has driven home the message that he needs to do more if he wants to play regularly. Not sold he has it in him when the going gets tough though?
Got a feeling Willock will start tomorrow. Buzzin for it
