First off , well happy with the victory in the end. I think we deserved that because Villa didn’t really do much all game and their goal come against the run of play, but we certainly struggled to break them down for 60 mins. We need to figure out a way to punish these sort of sides a bit earlier.
That being said, I mentioned to Hengy on the match thread right at the start, it was wrong not to start Eriksen and the team line up was to negative. The 3 man midfield of Sissoko, Winks and NDombele isn’t going to work against the weaker sides. Eriksen completely changed the game and even more proof that we will be stupid to let him go this season.
Get him signed on a new contract, with a clause in his contract that will allow him to go anywhere abroad next summer for an agreed fee. It means we will have all summer to properly replace him. GLC will hopefully be a great player, but like I kept saying all window, if Eriksen goes, we need another quality addition to replace him. GLC alone isn’t enough.
Now onto NDombele, dream debut struggled a little at the start with a few wayward passes, but what I love about him is his ability to make things happen. Put a beautiful chip ball into Kane in which Kane should of scored. His goal was outstanding, but what impressed me most? His winning mentality. No over the top celebration, he literally grabbed the ball and told all his teammates to hurry up as he wanted the winner. That’s what a 65 mil pound winner gets you. Hopefully the difference between us winning trophies finally, COYS!!!

Up until his goal, the new lad looked poor.
Wayward passes, slow and nervous.
A goal was great and his performance improved after that but to call it a dream debut is over the top.
I think you’re just bigging up the new lad.

Nope. I clearly mentioned “wayward passes and a slow start “ in my article, so no I wasn’t bigging him up at all. Scored the all important equaliser with a beauty of a shot on his debut, which effectively won us the game in the end, dream debut. NDombele done more in 1 game than Keita did all season.

I happen to disagree. Calling it a dream debut was over the top. In fact, I checked your match thread during the game and he was coming in for some flak - and justifiably so. I’m not as blind as to think a goal means your performance is good enough.
It was a nice goal though and he looked very good afterwards which means that he gained huge confidence from the equaliser.
Nothing to do with Keita - although I might add that he had an excellent debut and didn’t score a goal.

He was probably a 6/10 before the goal and the only I saw on our match thread say anything negative was eddie and quite frankly he’s a idiot.
Good debut and will get better as he gets fitter.

Getting flak ? No he wasn’t we could see NDombele was trying to make things happen but it wasn’t coming off at the start

7/10 performance which is solid and you can see he'll only get better. Especially as gonna start most games for us.
Cant wait to see Lo Celso and praying eriksen stays. Should challenge a lot closer with those 3 and kane having a full fit season.

Decent enough performance, a goal as well. I think opposition supporters need to look at their own players before having a pop at Spurs players.

Well, I've watched the match twice now.
1. Alderweireld is still one of the most important players in this side. Both in defense and in starting attacks. Saved us from a second goal yesterday, BTW.
2. Sissoko is our engine in the middle making things happen and always looking to go forward. If only he would learn to shoot on target! Hopefully NDombele will become his partner. ATM Sissoko is his coach.
3. Lucas Moura takes a lot of attention away from Kane. Always positive. Should be a regular starter for us.
4. Danny Rose is still a top attacking LB. All the talk of selling him is stupid.
5. Sanchez is just not ready to partner Toby or Jan. I doubt whether he ever will be.
6. Winks and KWP are not ready for prime time. "Showing promise" is the best to be said there.
7. Lamela was a lot better yesterday than posters on here are saying.
8. We need to keep Eriksen. I wonder why he wants to leave? Perhaps something to do with Levy?
Looking at the team as a whole, RB is going to be a real question mark against top teams. Lo Celso's addition to the center is going to be interesting. Will he replace Eriksen?
As for the front line, I wish we'd gotten Dybala. Even Son is injured now! Roll on ManCity next week!
