Delighted with Today's Result & Performance

Most will question the performance but I was pleased with what I saw. Lots of endeavour, a lot of running around, half and full presses and knowing when to stifle the game and control it. Yes, its not the best performance but a lot to take from it.

We played well from the back
Leno looked so sharp, he is a class keeper and keeps getting better
Aubameyang has been sharp throughout pre-season. If his first touch can stay like that for half the season he will be top goal scorer again
Guendouzi had a good controlled performance

It would be nice if Torreira can regain fitness and replace Xhaka. He isnt the worst player but I would love for us to move from him.

Looking forward to seeing Bellerin, Holding and Tierney starting games.

I have a feeling Sokratis and Luiz could form a ridiculously good defence for at least one season. Luiz has it in him to do it. If you think thats a comical defence then watch Chelsea's.

Every point you pick away from home develops confidence , belief and resolve. A point at Anfield and we could set the season up nicely.

I thought Chambers did well too.

Delighted with the result but the performance have much space to improve. Watching our bench today I see a lot space to do well this season. For once we looked solid in defense without the individual error for once. Happy to get the 3 away points.

Away win, clean sheet, it's a great start.

Title still in our hands too.

Chambers will have a case to keep his spot over luiz for time being. He did well today, wasn’t massively tested but didn’t do anything wrong. Dealt with a difficult striker quite well, Joelinton sort of forward that would traditionally cause us big problems. I was skeptical of him before the game, but he did well. Let Joelinton get in front of him once for a header, but he put good pressure on him so and made the chance harder

Not the strongest lineup on our books, but it was nice to see the kids step up after being thrown in at the deep end on the first day of the season. We all remember the last time we were forced to start the season with Chambers and Holding at the heart of defence.

As for midfield, it's going to be very hard for Torreira to find a starting spot under Emery's preferred 4-2-3-1 formation. Emery absolutely loves Guendouzi, and he doesn't look like he's going to bench his captain any time soon.

Not a great game at all but I'll take that result all day. I think sometimes we paper over the negatives because we won and I think that's happening here. If Newcastle played any better, it easily could have been a draw or loss. I hope we build on this and are at our best for Liverpool and Spurs.

Yes definitely wasn’t a good performance as Newcastle didn’t play well either. But we didn’t really do anything stupid and in a game where we didn’t create much clear chances I’m glad we have a striker clinical enough to take his first good chance. We looked quite assured once we took the lead and sensibly saw out the game. For quite a weakened side with academy players we did pretty well. Especially considering past arsenal performances, it’s sort of game we’d have somehow messed up. With players coming back from injury and getting match fitness back, there’s plenty of potential for improvement

Much more positives than negatives today, good showing from the youngster's, aubameyang looks sharp, defence looked better, our bench looked really strong and 1 more clean sheet away this season and we would have bettered last season.

Just wanna increase those 7 wins away from home last season.

This is 1/1

It’s going to take time to get back into the rhythm of things

I expect another ok performance next week. Not 100% but signs of improvement and a comfortable win.

Would normally expect to be back up to speed properly by the time we are back from the international break. However need to be up to speed by the pool game
