Starting the season off with an away win is about as perfect as it gets.
Leno - 6 - Had a relatively uneventful game, but still came up with some good saves when called upon.
AMN - 7 - Had to cover a lot of space due to the lack of protection in front of him, but he handled it well. Grew in confidence after Guendouzi started helping him out in the 2nd half. Brilliant build up for the goal.
Chambers/ Sokratis - 7- A quietly confident display from both. Nothing much to report.
Nacho - 6 - Rarely troubled. Could have done more to help out in attack imo.
Guendouzi - 8 - A dynamo in midfield who offered himself up for the ball every single time and started off quite a few attacking moves. Made quite a few tackles to win possession too. Looked like more of a captain than anyone else on the pitch.
Xhaka - 4.5 - Meh!
Nelson - 6 - Looked promising at times, and could have done with some overlapping support from Monreal. Went rather quiet after the booking.
Willock - 7 - An encouraging display. Nice movement both on and off the ball. I just hope he has the lungs to keep this pace up over 90 minutes.
Mkhi - 6 - Another Jekyll & Hyde performance from him. Brilliant one moment, and absolute poverty the next. Looks like he's also lost a yard of pace over the summer.
Auba -7- Did his best to hold the ball up as the main striker and remained a nuisance throughout. Nice to see him take a few shots on his weaker foot too. Cracking finish for the goal.
Subs
Ceballos - 5 - Decent debut. Did well to slow the game down as we ground out a result.
Pepe - 4 - Can't really blame him for looking slightly off the pace today. Nothing a few weeks of training with the squad can't change.
Martinelli - 5 - Decent 10 minutes on the pitch.

How the hell do you rate mikis performance higher than Xhaka’s
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I know Mkhi was a bit wasteful with possession today, but he had his moments. Made a few promising runs through the middle and even tracked back.
Only thing I remember Xhaka doing today was that through-ball.

Dont think you watched properly then

Xhaka lost possession twice that I could remember today in deep areas. It's remarkable the number of times he does it. Every single game. Was doing it even in pre-season. That guy needs an exorcism.

A different opinion. And it looks that big accounts on twitter like Stilberto and that Clive account are the same opinion than me about Xhaka.

SOG is saying Xhaka played better than Mkhitaryan today. Which he did.

Mkhitaryan was clearly our worst player. Produced nothing and gave the ball away when he was under very little pressure again and again.

How Cebellos do for you?

Mhki was awful - the worst on the pitch.
Xhaka again is being picked on - he wasn't good but he wasn't 4.5 either.
I thought Nelson was excellent - better than Willock.
