Just wanted to get the LFC views on the match tomorrow night.
Being a CFC fan I really feel this is a totally meaningless match, win or lose.
Why do the powers that be feel the need to play these games.
We have just started a new season and already we are on the road, when we need to be home training etc.
No doubt we will be ordered to play some of the more high profile players, and this is my point.
My club for some inexplicable reason decide to send the squad to USA immediately after the season ended and what happens, we lose Loftus Cheek for months due to just turning badly.
We already have 4 1st teamers out due to injuries.
I am sure you are also concerned, a bad injury to a main player can really upset a teams balance.
Your views guys

We put the thing on our "wall of champions"
It says super cup wins 3.
I hope it says super cups 4 by end of week.
By May however; if our wall of champions board says tel:18 - 6 - 7 - 3 - 8 - 4 Jurgen won't be cut any slack by having a 4 against the super cup.
I'd love to add a super cup. a world club sure.... wouldn't we all.
But moving the dial to 19 or and 8th Fa cup or even a 9th league cup would all be "more important" than a super cup or a world club.
We following 2005 with an fa cup in 2006. It felt pretty good. I'd take it in may more than a super cup.
In fact i'd challenge anyone to tell me who we played in super cup in 2001 and 2006. I bet you can tell me the score in 2006 FA cup final and who we played!

Munich 2001, can’t remember 2005.

I presume you all clearly recall 2006 fa cup final though?

Its a game to win simple as another trophy on the board. If we lose to this Chelesa team be a bit embarrassing.

Because you’re something of a mess at the moment, and just been battered by an average United side.

It's far more important than the charity shield. Charity shield is literally a competitive friendly and youre allowed six subs and there is no extra time.
The super cup is a European trophy that comes with circa £5m in prize money and has normal rules and extra time as it's a competitive fixture.

Agree with Hoody on this one. Only 2 teams in the whole of Europe ever qualify to play this one so in my view it's pretty exclusive for Europe's top dogs. Many Club's have NEVER had the chance to even play in this fixture in their entire history, so if you've already got it on the CV like both of these Club's have then it's satisfying to have, and one to strike off the bucket list.
Having said that I'm not expecting us to win tomorrow and do you know what? I won't be that bothered if we do lose.
Work that one out!!

I see it as a massive game. Chance to win a trophy. Start our best team.

We will I reckon bar Mane as he got back late. Origi did well again so an easy solution there.
I've said plenty I think Chelsea will do fine this season but I reckon this game has come a couple of months early. It's also likely to be missing a bit of experience which Chelsea have always had bags of for a long time.
It's a one off game though and football being football Barkley will smash one in or something. Maybe Brewster will knock in the winner.
