VAR

So player blatantly dives, penalty gets given. It’s referred to VAR and original decision stands.

I don’t think I’ve seen anyone say it was a penalty, so I think we’re all in agreement that it was a mistake by the ref, basically she was duped by the attacking player, like countless other refs pre VAR.

It looks like the fears over VAR are going to be realised, that anything that is remotely subjective will not get overturned, refs will still get it wrong and will still be conned by the divers, and cheating will not get stamped out.

It was only a friendly so I wouldn’t read too much into it

Was the missed penalty the only penalty where the keeper came off his line?

Its getting so much attention just wondering if that's because it was the one that won it.

The other ones, it doesnt really matter anyway if the keeper did or didn’t as they were all scored (as in, there was no advantage from doing it)

This is good point and I thight it would be re taken. The odds are so stacked against keepers now like cant touch woodwork have to stand in line etc they might as well just give a goal.

VAR is very good technology to aid the referee.
It will settle many close call situations.
Sure it can and will be misused....... but so also is the human eye, all the time!
I'm for VAR!

I'll remain skeptical until it can be seen to have improved the game.

I agree, I don’t think it’s something they need to be looking at at all tbh.
