He’s still only 21 with more years of development ahead of him after stagnating with Jose. Let’s hope he kicks on but his stats are very impressive so far, although he needs to work on his decision making and ball retention.

Premier League appearences and goals at 21 years old:

Kane - 34 apps, 21 goals

Dele - 70 app, 28 goals

Rashford - 112 apps, 29 goals
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Gabriel Jesus 35 apps 27 goals
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah it's great scoring when you're already 4-0 up. Real worthy contribution that is.

I don't even think those figures are right for jesus lol

Nailed on starter in my book

He’s produced in big games no doubt. Needs to start producing more in the smaller ones though.

Like his penos - he should miss one at some point. However, the way he strikes it, where he puts it and the confidence is impressive for one so young. He and Kane are as good a penalty taker as there are in the game atm and both English

My only concern with Rashford is that his improvement since his debut season has been relatively marginal.

Having said that, I do believe he has the potential to become a fully established international and our first choice striker, but I also believe his ceiling is much lower than world class status.

It really hasn't. There has been a clear improvement in his overall game over the years, even if the goals haven't always come.

There's still a lot of work with him. Obviously needs to become a more consistent goal scorer, but his decision making also isn't great yet (and he needs to cut out those infuriating flicks which 9/10 times go straight to the opposition)

I've always had my doubts about whether he'd achieve it, but there is definitely potential to be a top player there.

I said when we signed Zlatan that he would hamper the development of Rashford and Martial. The same has happened with bringing in Sanchez and Lukaku. The bottom line is that we brought in the wrong manager at a crucial period in their development. He brought players in ahead of them, played them out of position and played a system that did not suit their skill set. It is no wonder that they have stagnated over the last couple of seasons.

This year is a big year for them both - especially Martial, who really should be looking to have a proper breakthrough season at 23. He should be aiming for 20 PL goals if he is going to be the no.9 and probably about 26 in all competitions, assuming the kids play a lot of the cup matches. A big season for both of them with Ole putting his trust in them rather than more experienced players, but I believe that they have the ability to rise to the challenge. They certainly have a manager who can advise on how to eek out those extra goals. The question is now whether they have the character. The news coming out of OT is that Rashford has returned for pre-season in great shape and with a renewed focus. Ole seems more likely to me to get some extra out of Martial than Jose was, so hopefully we see an improvement in his application. Genuinely excited to see what all of our young attacking line can do this season.

There is still a long way to go in all of their development, but I really feel that we have the core of our attacking line-up set for the next decade. We just need to get Gomes signed up to a new contract.
