Heroes / TV Shows cancelled too early...

1. Heroes

Before all the Marvel superhero films (which I don't like btw)... Heroes was extremely popular because it was slow paced and focused more on the human side of the characters who were struggling to cope with the responsibilities of having these powers. It featured main characters from all over the world and the theme tune was unlike anything heard on TV before.

It was growing fast and had potential to be as big as GOT or Breaking Bad but it was killed by poor writing and then cancelled way too early - I think it was partially to do with the writers strike that was taking place at the time.

2. Rome

Rome was a HBO series about historical events that took place in ancient Rome. Mainly what happened leading up to and after Julius Cesar's rise to power.

It truly was the Game of Thrones before game of thrones with regards to content but it was cancelled because the budget was way to big for HBO to manage at the time. It only lasted 2 seasons but it was unbelievable content and some of the actors went on to work in GOT.

Anyone remember these 2 dramas or any others?

Lost suffered from having to prolong the story due to popularity. Would have probably been a better, more coherent, story if they had done it in 4.

...................

It got itself lost so to say.

And I totally agree.

The Simpsons is the one they really need to wrap up most of all. Almost 2 decades now past its best. Totally damaged its legacy.

Yeah you're supposed to stop watching it when you're an adult. It still won't lose it's popularity as there are more kids growing up watching it.

It has lost its popularity by decreasing viewing figures, and almost everyone of a certain age saying how it's much crapper than it used to be.

Should have finished it when they made the film and even that was a disappointment.

Anyone watching The Boys?

It's great. Looking forward to see how they move it forward in season 2.

However, it's not a patch on the original Garth Ennis comic. If you haven't read it you should.

I’ve read all the original and am a huge Garth Ennis fan and feel the show does very well to live up to the graphic novel. It’ll never be as good but compared to some other adaptations of other great graphic novels out there it does deserve a lot of praise

Garth Marengis Dark Place.

With only one season it was taken too soon.

Too soon 😢

Rome was absolutely brilliant such a shame it was cancelled but would rather have 2 series that are 10/10 than several more with the inevitable drop in quality.

Have watched it from start to end numerous times over the years. Titus Pullo is a legend.

Agreed.

The TV show is dark, but it won't dare to go near some of the content in the comicd.

I heard a rumour that that the diiick obsessed "fack it" iron man character (Tek Knight) from the comic is going to be included in the second season, which will be a laugh.
