Has VAR made stadium admission fees too

high?

It seems to me the experience of going to live games in a stadium has been devalued by VAR.

Fans can no longer uninhibitedly go into spontaneous euphoria mode when their team scores a goal...................Isn't that a big factor of going to live games?

For me, it's a good system being misused. It was supposed to be introduced to highlight clear and obvious errors but instead it'e being used to look for reasons to disallow goals where no one would even have questioned.

Man City's 90m+ goal yesterday would never have been previously been disallowed and even Spurs players wouldn't have questioned it.

Likewise Lingaards goal for England - even with all their lines drawn across the pitch I couldn't tell if it was offside so who would have questioned it if it had been given by a match official?

A good system where the operation requires looking at IMO!

This.

And in my opinion MOTD has a lot to answer for - all this slide-rule stuff. Let the refs make those instantaneous subjective decisions, and VAR point out blatant errors. Thus refs retain their self-belief instead of being over-ruled all the time.

It used to be such a simple enjoyable game played by humans, reffed by humans; and ALL of them making mistakes.

The way it's all going the joy and excitement will be sucked out of the game
