I just saw this on twitter about our 17—18 summer business
- Alvaro Morata (deal agreed with Atletico Madrid to sell)
- Danny Drinkwater (on loan at Burnley)
- Davide Zappacosta (Roma medical booked)
- Tiemoue Bakayoko (in talks with clubs over leaving)
- Antonio Rudiger (Chelsea success story) #CFC
In hindsight what a shocking summer that was, baring rudiger who I really rate the others have been complete flops. Morata was probably one of the most mentally fragile strikers we've had in recent times. Drinkwater just never worked and decided he liked a drink more than he liked training, zappa to be fair wasn't too bad he's just not good enough in any department to be playing for Chelsea, the less said about bakayoko the better.

Other than Morata and Rudiger the other three you could tell would be flops / not that good buys. Zappa in fairness isnt that bad..or he is but still since he was bought, Azpi has also been bad, and Zappa does do some things better than Azpi. I think he could have been rotated more under Sarri. I’m glad he can go now for James.
Morata maybe the worst flop for the price but at the time I think it was a fair investment to make..mentally just didn’t have it. But a young striker, with a record and style like him, fair enough.
