Villa v Everton

Need to get at least a point on the board tonight v Everton

Villa have played well in stages v Spurs and Bournemouth but, still zero points

IMO need to change fullbacks now, Elmo and Taylor good servants but def the weak links, Guilbert and Targett need to start tonight

Wesley needs to start shooting more instead of falling down!

------------------- Heaton ------------------
Guilbert --- Engels --- Mings --- Targett
-------------------- D.Luiz ------------------
----------- J.McGinn -- Grealish ----------
Trezeguet --------------------- A.El Ghazi
-------------------- Wesley -----------------

Would take a draw right now as Everton have improved a lot, but a win would be fantastic

I like that team and hope it’s the one he goes for. Elmo and Taylor haven’t made any errors but are really the weak links, they don’t get forward as well as Guilbert and Targett and mean we’re weaker in possession and more likely to make errors. Smith is trying not to change too much too early but he needs to bring the new full backs in.

Wesley could do with a goal tonight, and better performances from Grealish and El Ghazi. Trezeguet has looked a threat so far. Need to take our chances tonight and not gift them any but Everton have a mean defence. If we can take a minimum of a point tonight I’d back us to win at Palace.

Guilbert in for Elmo, Taylor keeps his place

Jota in for El Ghazi

Some good football here, Guilbert so much better than Elmo

Wesley good goal too, and Jota better than I thought he was

Great win last night, Don’t think there was a bad performance from anyone

A really good win, which we deserved. One the back foot for the first 20 minutes when we couldn't get the ball, but settled after Wesley's goal. Some luck, but often you create your own luck.

Wesley deserved MOTM, a real handful all match. Guilbert and Jota were superb for their first PL outing. Bring on Palace!

Really happy with the win, thought the Villa Park atmosphere was amazing and long may it continue. Such a contrast to the apathy and frustration of the crowd in the last few years before we were relegated.

Thought our best performers were Wesley, Jota, Guilbert and Engels. Nice to see El Ghazi come on and score after being dropped, great attitude and gives Dean a selection headache out wide for Palace. Also, that midfield trio of Luiz, McGinn and Grealish is really special imo and I really look forward to how they progress together as the season goes on. Grealish still not at his best but sure he'll get there.

Same here 87 only saw last 20 as sneaked in pub after daughters wedding

What I saw Wesley seemed stronger and Guillbert looked useful.

Everton had a lot of the ball with what I saw but again like our midfield options.
