Small squad strategy....

.......is essentially getting everybody in the squad to cover at least two positions. Ish.

What do you do for a living but, importantly, are you qualified to do something else?

It’s great being able to cover 2 positions but then it means you have players who are ‘masters of none’ like Dallas, Alioski and Berardi.

The challenge comes when you get multiple injuries in same are, at present it’s defence, so we potentially start next match with 3 out of back 4 missing after only a few games.

The good thing is it gives the kids a chance to get into the matchday squad and Bielsa been brilliant for this, but let’s be honest, people have been saying they’d have Berardi nowhere near the team, Alioski isn’t a full back and white and Shackleton have only ever started a handful of matches at this level in front of a keeper who is prone to flapping.

Fingers crossed Cooper back soon.
