I don't think I have seen a more inept performance by a referee in a long time.
I actually started to wonder if he knew the rules, he sure doesn't know what happens to players who deny clear goal scoring opportunities as the last man.
He clearly is blind if he can't see a blatant foul from 3 yards and then books the lad for diving.
Zero control over the game if a team can commit 20 fouls and get 2 yellows.
We didn't deserve to win today, far from it, but he doesn't deserve to ref in the PL again for some time.

He wasn't great yes but I couldn't give a feck about his performance. I care more about our performance which was absolutely shambolic.

I thought he was very good. The booking on James was a bit harsh but he was going down before he was touched. Didn't wilt under the pressure of the Old Trafford crowd. Strong performance.

bookmarked this for when he has a shocker at Anfield, but then again these days that doesn't seem to happen against pool at home, just the away sides.

17 fouls and only 3 yellow cards, one of which wasn't a yellow card.

In all seriousness i think he did alright, it was prob a pen on martial though and they cant have much complaints if hed given a red on he last man foul however i think both i can see why others would interpret them differently. Same with james dive bit harsh to book him for it just play on. But yeah its easy to blame him but its all down to opinions and those were his and others will agree or disagree, utd were poor and got beat also missed a pen again.

oh to be clear, I place no blame on him for our performance, even despite his ineptitude we should've won.
its one of those awkward things where if you lose you can't comment on the ref because its seen as sour grapes but he was shocking irrespective of the result.

Why didn't VAR sort out the ref?

Clear pen on martial. Clear red for Cahill. Clear foul on James who gets booked for diving. 3 blatant errors. No accountability however, he'll still be reffing next week. It takes something to put in a worse performance than fat f**k moss but this guy somehow managed it.

Not a pen. It started outside the box. It should have been a free kick and he should have seen it. I imagine that's why VAR didn't give it.
