By way of introduction, I've been following this board since the old 606 days, but have only just gotten round to posting.
Anyway, I wanted to get everyone's thoughts on the game?
For me, the problem is Emery.
We started with a narrow formation against the most width-heavy team in the league. As a result our central midfielders got ran ragged trying to cover the flanks which created space in the middle as well as on the flanks. Why was Willock starting? Why didn't Torreira start? Where was Laca? Why is Gwen starting a game like this?
Also why weren't we pressing the ball at all? Why are we still playing out from the back despite the fact that it doesn't work and immediately puts pressure on our entire outfield?
We're 3 games into the season and he doesn't even know what his first team is, despite the fact that most of the fans do. That's a big problem.
Thoughts?

Also if Torreira doesn't start the next game (and start every PL game he's fit for this season) despite coming on for 20 minutes and completely outplaying his counterparts (he was better than Xhaka, Gwen, Ceballos and Willock combined today), then something needs to be said about Emery's vendetta against him.

I like Gwen, but not sure why Emery is obsessed with him when we have better options.

Torreira is my first name on the team sheet in the cm position. The other two positions are up for grabs and I dont know who gets them. Horses for courses I reckon.
Lacazette is our best striker. Forget Auba...if Auba does not score, he does nothing else. Lacazette harries, chases and presses and holds up the ball. Even if he does not score, his overall contribution is miles ahead of Auba.
Emery needs to stop tinkering. If Lacazette and Torreira don't start vs Tottenham,he needs to go

We bought a poor defender in Luiz, everyone knew it, that's why he couldn't get in the Chelsea team and they sold him. Probably couldn't believe their luck. Chambers is far better defender just not as glamorous. Until we learn how to defend properly we will always be vulnerable.
