If Celtic had tried to get Taylor two months ago they’d maybe have asked for less. Killie in last week of window would have a hard time getting a replacement in, and Celtic seem pretty desperate for a left back. Not much time to negotiate for Celtic or for Killie if they need a replacement.

You’d have paid 3m for Turnbull who although maybe more talented, isn’t someone you’d have used as much.

They did although they say he was never a replacement.

Which is what I'd expect them to say.

Listen. They are quite within their rights to ask for whatever they want. I just don't believe anyone (and probably even both clubs) think he's worth it.

First stage of negotiations which may progress further or just be dropped like a stone because of the huge variation in valuations.

You're absolutely right to tear in. I'm not sure I could have done it but do harp back to the days when I did. Not so sure I would now mind.
