Well thats 2 attackers gone now and wuth martial injured looks like the younger boys will be making the step up in the next few weeks

If you can get rid of one of the worst signing EVER in the history of the club and a drain of the club's finances, you do so.

Attempts to sign some attackers failed because they did not want to come and we didn't want to buy cheap replacements we would need to move on in 2 years. It's much better to grind down any youngsters IMO. Ole would have definitely wanted more but this is what we have.

So I'm sure I'm going to Chong and homes and greenwood more. I'm delighted. We are rebuilding, REALLY rebuilding, finally!!! By the end of this season, matic, young, Mata and smalling and all those stopgaps we've been using will join all those stopgaps who where earning so much without offering close to their earnings with no hope of improvement. If that's all Ole does, he is the greatest manager we've had since fergie. It's that simple really.

Daniel James only has 1less PL goal for us than Sanchez! Let that sink in for a moment.

Certainly puts things into perspective.

Ole strengthens at the back, like the fans wanted.

Ole gets rid of Lukaku and Sanchez, like the fans wanted.

Ole plays the kids, like the fans wanted.

Quit whinging guys.

Don't look at it as us still paying 200k per month, but saving 200k per month.

This.

The same people who say that Sanchez is crap will likely be the same people who say we are now short in numbers now he has gone.

Lets not forget Sanchez has been injury prone since he joined us anyway.

Sanchez would likely have played very little
for us in the coming months, and probably not very well anyway.

Give him chance to find some sort of form again (not tripping over the ball every time he comes on would be a start) and you never know what will happen in the future.

Meanwhile, Zlatan says he’s ready if we need him! Bring him back Ole!

Better off playing a kid

See, I’m not sure about this. In the long run, absolutely, and there’s no doubt that his time at United has been pretty disastrous. But we desperately miss the kind of thing that he is capable of bringing. I know his good moments are few and far between, but look back to that 3-2 derby at the Etihad, the way he carved out the opening for the first and then assisted the other two. The fact that he’s not done that nearly enough doesn’t alleviate my fear that he was still more likely to do it than anyone else.

With Martial injured, we are relying on Rashford, Greenwood and Gomes. Let’s hope Solskjær’s faith in them doesn’t come back to bite him.

In the main, it’s for the best, as with Lukaku, but it does leave us frighteningly short up front.

People need to realise this season is the start of bringing the club back to where it wants to be. Getting rid of the players that don't fit ability/ego-wise and starting to build a team hungry for success.

It can't and won't happen straight away. Our aim this season I'm sure is to get top 4, but nothing more will be expected, higher will be a bonus.

Hopefully we will be a good position next summer to start adding quality that will take us to the next level.

People forget it didn't happen instantly for Pep at City or Klopp at Liverpool. Not comparing Ole by any means, but the fact remains the same. His recruitment has been good so far.

We need rid of the deadwood. Ideally we'd have enough in a couple more, we know Ole wanted to but it wasn't to be.

This leaves us scarily short up top, maybe we have our sights set on somebody in January?

Goes back to us only signing players who want to be here though. No good is keep on bringing in players in huge money we cannot shift.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And if the goals have dried up by then because we don’t have a nine (arguably barring Greenwood) in the squad, then we’ll be rinsed to high heaven.

We should’ve bought or loaned an experienced centre forward in the summer, quite simply.

This exactly. Getting players off the wage bill, big egos that don't produce out the door, testing youngsters in PL football (which he will be forced to do).

Scraping Top 4 would be an outstanding achievement for a United side in a huge transition, and our start has not really hindered that. Having said that, I don't think it is the be all and end all of what we are trying do.

People have been calling for an over haul of the squad since fergie left, it's actually happening now

when I hear trimming the wage bill to me that just translates to 500k a week extra in the glazers pockets, over the past 18months or so we've probably had a outlay in total net spend of about 40-50mill
