Why the NLD might bring tactical changes

From both managers.

Let's stick to Poch as we are Spurs.

2 things must change:

1. Verts must come in.

2. The 4-3-2-1 should be changed. Newcastle played a compact game thus making the midfield congested and this caused Spurs push forward to break down against the Geordie wall.

Poch must revert back to 3-5-2, a system in which the flanks help out the attack and carry the ball to the likes of Kane and Moura. It also enables Eriksen and one other player, used to be Dele, to push forward knowing there is still 2 players in the midfield to protect the defense or a counter attack.

The 3-5-2 system has served us so well in the past when we went at one time 4 months unbeaten.

Like this

Lloris

Alderweireld, Sanchez, Vertonghen

Sissoko, Eriksen, Dier, Ndombele, Rose

Lucas, Kane

With Dele/Lo Celso/Lamela all available for the midfield subs if needed.

As a holding midfielder, Dier can sit deeper so that Erkisen could influence the game further up the pitch.

The 3-5-2 is probably the more robust system defensively. It also allows feeding the attack with the ball.
The downside is that this system will often lack width.

However, I think for the NLD it may be the better of the two systems (between 4-3-2-1 and 3-5-2)

My opinion - so let's get yours.

Chronic, Poch knows how much Verts brings to the game and even if it's been a difference of opinions between the two, for the best of the club, Poch must play a fit again Verts.

Verts declared himself fit for this game so I expect to see him on Sunday - minus the scare I hope.

You've opted for 3-5-2 too then?
In that system Toby plays right and Verts left with Sanchez slightly deeper in the middle.

You have Winks instead of Dier. Wiith Dier he can easily drop deep and play as an extra CB when we need to change it.

But happy to see you agree on 3-5-2

I want Verts back, but let`s not pretend all is rosy when Verts and Toby play together these days, it isn`t. The last time they were partnered Spurs were 1-0 down within a minute, and let in two goals in the game.

You're a tough crowd to please Sandy...Give it a rest mate...The old tick tock will implode otherwise...Give the team a chance mate.

Yeah, sadly. Given we will have Verts back, we should still be in a better state!
