King Eric wins UEFA president award.

But does anyone have any idea what the f**k he was talking about in his acceptance speech??

According to users on the r/soccer sub-Reddit, King Eric said: “As flies to wanton boys, we are for the Gods. They kill us for the sport. Soon the science will not only be able to throw down the ageing of the cells, the science will fix the cells to the state, and so we’ll become eternal[1]. Only accidents, crimes, wars will still kill us. But unfortunately, crimes and wars will multiply. I love football. Thank you.”

In terms of its meaning, I dunno, “wanton boys” is a King Lear reference that much I know. He’s talking about God, death, science and football, is he having a dig at the governing bodies for running footballers into the ground with more games for their own, and our entertainment?

I think cruel Gods are mentioned in the play?

My brother just described him as “Mad as a crate of pate.”

I love how he came dressed to a formal UEFA event like the lead protagonist in a saucy French rom-com, where his wife dies and suddenly finds being a widower is very attractive to the local women, except his female best friend, who has always loved him, but takes him the entire film to realise that he has fallen for her too.

He took the campaign to kick racism out of football literally, he should have been rewarded rather than banned!
