Nearly time for a lie down

My nerves are still recovering from last night.

After Sunday I will definitely need an extended lie down so the international break on this occasion is actually no bad thing.

Its all set up to be a cracker on sunday. I don't want to curse it but it could be set to be one of the most entertaining and high scoring OF games in a long time.

I have already given SG a lot of credit for the job he has done but the team needs some credit for last night as well. There was a massive amount of pressureon the players last night and they came though.

Rangers have definitely found a strength of character this season that they never had last year. The resilience they showed last night to keep their shape, keep their nerve and come up with a moment of real quality at the depth was very impressive again.

Alfie was the worthy match winner yet again but special mentions go to two players;

Ryan Jack - I take it all back and humbly apologise. I have never particularly rated Jack and he was one of the players I would have upgraded. But he has gone from being Mr '7/10 meh' every week to Mr 8 or 9/10.

Niko. What can you say about Katic? I don't think I have ever seen a centre back who enjoys just winning the ball more than Katic does. He would run through a brick wall to win a header.

Katic is still a bit rough around the edges but he is improving and is also turning into a real asset this season.

With both these players you have to think the additional competition and quality in the squad is helping to drive them on to improve.

Keep it going boys and bring on sunday - it should be a cracker.

I’ll be surprised if Morelos is dropped. I get the idea of freshening it up but Defoe missed a couple chances last week too. And they're professionals, we’ve no had to travel so should be no excuse for him no being fresh. After last season old girl games Morelos has to prove his doubters wrong, so for me he has to play.

Going into the game on a high after last night. And great to go in to the game with great options.

Have to give Gerrard praise, besting a couple strong teams on the way. Without the spending on Helander we’d have already had a great squad for not a lot of money and a few players have upped their game under the coaching team.

Morelos never did look at his best last night, mentioned on the live thread it looked like his head was elsewhere! Then Booooooom the winner in Alfie time.

Hope he starts on Sunday and if we happen to be 2-0 up then bring on Defoe.

Be not afraid!

What of Robert Duvall?

Shame Alfredo cannot score in big games or only when the tie is over

Such a mature performance last night as the OP said, kept our shape and discipline and did not get sucked into their antics. When will Uefa ever clamp down on blatant time wasting and cheating...although watching them scramble around in the final five minutes was quite funny. Another game to add to Killie and St.Mirren that we would likely not have won last year.

Also think that Defoe will start on Sunday with Morelos coming off the bench. So good to have genuine choices in midfield and attack. Hopefully we win, but OF games traditionally do not go as expected so we shall see.

I would actually like to see him freshen it up for the OF game. Maybe rest Aribo and Ojo - keep them on the bench and they are there if we need them. Start with Jones and Kamara or King.

I would start Morelos all day long.

I think it's same starting lineup as last night. Defoe for Morelos and Flanagan for Barisic are the changes I think if any

Jones will definitely play some part in the game. I think he'll be much more effective after the celtic players have around an hour on their legs
