Team news vs Arsenal

Afternoon

Friday feeling?

NLD couldn't come at much worse a time for Spurs on current form and uncertainties around. Not to mention the laughable RB situation

Team news:

- Kyle Walker-Peters has been ruled out(hammy)

- Tanguy Ndombele has commenced on-field rehabilitation but is unavailable for selection this weekend (thigh)

- Ryan Sessegnon is concluding the late stages of conditioning before returning to training (hammy)

- Juan Foyth is progressing well (ankle)

- Eric Dier is also being assessed (hip)

Looks as though Dele is likely to start on the bench.

My line up:

Lloris
Toby Sanchez Verts Rose
Sissoko Winks
Eriksen*
Lucas Kane Son

Gazzaniga, Davies, Aurier, Skipp, Lamela, Dele, Lo Celso

*with the joke that is the Eriksen situation who knows whether he will play or not but i am between him and Lo Celso starting who in turn could be too soon for him to start it seems.

If Aurier cant even make the bench for this one that would go some way to suggesting he is far from in Poch's plans...whatever they are!

as Ace has mentioned a lot on other articles, he believes things are the opposite of rosy right now.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh so he agrees with me then. So what`s the problem. I say the team and the manager are producing dross, and it is all hell breaks lose. Ace says things are not going right, and he is spot on.

Got it. Same opinions, differing reactions.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Its because you jump from one extreme to the other

You're easily the most fickle fan on this board
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I think I have been fairly consistent in wanting the manager gone for the best part of a year now. So pretty consistent really. I praised him for getting Spurs to the Final of the CL, although I also said he was extremely lucky. But his form in the Prem has been abysmal, and I have consistently called him out on that.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Why were you predicting that we would win trophies this season if you didn't think the manager was good enough?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I don`t think I predicted Spurs would win trophies, I may have said that Poch had to win trophies, but cannot ever remember posting I said Spurs would win trophies.

This is a game when we should be playing the pace of Lucas and Son, as we could well be playing on the break
----------------------------------------------------------------------

To be honest mate, both played against Newcastle and our attacks were like snails pace. Not sure you can play both together effectively.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Against Newcastle we were up against 10 defenders, we had all the ball but there was no space. The Woolwich will probably come at us, which should leave space to play on the counter.

Every opinion has to be respected.
———-
No it doesn’t. Opinions have to be credible. Repeatedly contradict yourself and your opinion loses credibility.
###########
As I said I form my opinions on results. If Spurs are doing well, then he will get my backing, if as the past six months he is performing rubbish results and performances, then I will continue to call for his head.
—————-
You were calling for his head after half a dozen games of poor results. Then we had a couple of wins in the PL and made the CL final and all was forgiven. Now you’re calling for his head again. You are too flakey in your opinions mate, you should keep your powder dry instead of claiming we’re gonna win the league every year then having a meltdown every time we fall short.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Sorry mate, every supporter should be questioning what is going on, four wins against relegation fodder since February, should absolutely have alarm bells ringing.

I like you Ace, even though I have not ever met you, but you are way off the mark if you think everything is rosy, it isn`t.

And anyway, when you going to meet me for a pint at WHL. It`s your round.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

I’ve not said everything is rosy Sandy. D’you think I’m daft? It’s obvious there are some problems, I’ve discussed them in my posts and articles. What I’m saying is I’m not calling for the managers head because respect the job he has done, I think there is much more context to our problems than just Poch going off the boil, and because I believe he has more than earned the right to turn it around. We were never winning the title, and never getting relegated. That hasn’t changed as a result of a defeat vs Newcastle, so I don’t see any rush to destabilise the club. I’m 100% behind Poch.

The other thing I’ve touched on is your tendency to change opinion from one extreme to the other and how you cannot expect people not to call you out on it.

I’d happily buy you a beer or three at WHL, if I can get a bloody ticket. Failed miserably for the Palace, Watford and Sheff games. Will be back on the wheel again next time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, buy me one too while you're there

Finding it difficult to acquire tix for the games right now. I'll join the club shall I?

OK Ace, looking forward to that, I suspect getting tickets for some of the smaller games will become easier as the season kicks on.

I have managed to get tickets for the first six games on sale. I was very lucky, but I do not think they hold some tickets back every match for OAPs, so may be the reason. I cannot make the Southampton game, as I am on holiday, you could have had the ticket, but it has already been snaffled up by a mate. Typically though I come back from hols on the 1st October, the day we are due to play Bayern at home, so will probably have to miss that as well.

I was supposed to be going to Dublin for a wedding on the weekend of the 14th of September, one of her nieces is tying the knot, but the Mrs has gone cool on the trip now, we may still make a late booking, but I have a ticket for Palace that weekend, so it is a bit of a win/win for me. Either good weekend in Dublin or down to WHL to see Spurs play.

The holiday I am on at the end of the month is up in the Lake District, where I shall hopefully be climbing England`s highest mountain Scafell Pike, amongst a few other peaks. Promised I would do it again when I reached 70.

Seven hour up and down trek mate. Done it a few times so know the route well mate. But obviously not so quick these days. Used to be able to do it in five hours.

7 hours? You really are old

I did it in 5 or so a couple of years back, lovely spot.

I did say I used to do it in five. But I am allowing seven this time. Probably do it in less. Doing the Corridor Route up, conventional route back down to Styhead, then probably down Grains Gill back to Seatoller. I shall solo it of course.
