Playing it at the back ?

Very noticeable yesterday’s game especially that we were playing it out from the back and it gave me a heart attack every single time. What are we doing ? Lloris probably has the worse distribution for any goal keeper in world football, so why the hell are we putting the defence under pressure by constantly playing it at the back, inviting Arsenal to press us.

It happened a few times and Sanchez nearly caused a goal because of it. Was infuriating to watch and we need to cut that out because we just don’t have the players at the back technically good enough to spray the ball around the defence.

Now onto Sissoko , who we all know has improved immensely in terms of carrying the ball and breaking up play, but I honestly can’t believe he’s a professional footballer at times. How can someone be that p** poor at shooting ? Any other player at the end, we probably could of won that from that beautiful pass from Harry. It bloody had to fall to the worse shooter in football history didn’t it FML

It's a high risk element to the game against the high press from the other team.

Draw teams out to create the space, as for Eriksens goal you gamble on getting a flick or slick pass to open up the space, it did for Lamela and Eriksen scored

We don’t have the technical players for it mate at the back, especially Lloris. If our keeper could kick or distribute the ball, then it could work.

Kane should have known better than to pass to Sissoko. I'd have rather he just attempted a shot himself. More chance of it going in.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

It was the right pass in the move, and Sissoko should have held on to it briefly and laid on to Dele who was inside him.
Instead he went for rugby style glory
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Teeing up Sissoko for a shot is never the right pass.

And why does Lloris insist on kicking the ball out to his fullbacks at near head height, they have to then try to bring into under control close to the touchline with forwards bearing down on them.

That's the thing!!

He didn't tie Sissoko up for shot!!

He played so Sissoko could play an inside pass to either Eriksen or Dele, probably Dele in this case, instead he went for glory

Lloris is one of the best shot stoppers and a fine keeper, but his distributions are awful.

Sometimes, the ball he plays to the defenders is too strong, sometimes it's at head height and sometimes it's directly going to the throw-ins. I have even seen him wait for the attackers close down on our defender before passing it to that defender who has no choice but to hoof it row Z. This happened last year to Verts.

Really he fits that system bar one thing: distribution not as good as Ederson's

He is awful in the box full stop no matter what he's doing. Just don't involve him in any play.

Makes me laugh when they try it as they just end up booting up the pitch or out for a corner anyway, they just waste 11 seconds of time every goal kick

When I was a regular in attendance at WHL during the 90's I was there to witness Sol Campbell (before he turned traitor) score the winning goal in the FA Quarter Final against Blackburn I think it was (only to see us embarrassingly lose against Everton in the semi's)... the crowd were not only elated obviously, they were in hysterics (in a good way)... my point is if only Sissoko was being coached on getting shots on target it could work. I mean how hard is it to teach this in training practice considering how often in real play this "tank" is given these chances to score? It aint hard to kick a ball goalwards once you learn to keep it on the groumd. They teach this in elementary school. Inside of the foot, not toe punt. After all what is the state of the art training ground being used for?
