Nev's never in doubt.

Well not 95% in doubt our start to the season.
It seems to me we have now got a manager who understands how to motivate players and also is not going to risk taking on Kapser and Vardy as that's not a career move in our family club.
So for Vardy he has put and inside right and left next to him to make the defenders think who to mark and not recruited someone who could be after his badge.
Kasper has worked on his game but not the crossing so a sub centre half comes on second half to cut out the crosses.

We got a give this weekend with the high-line so lets see what happens when we play teams that don't and Vardy does not get the ball.

But i having to be really picky to find fault

Putting two wingers on and taking Hamza out of the firing line was a master stroke.

I have one big concern going forward injuries we know Evans is susceptible to a knock and Morgans dodgy back so we don't have proper cover. Same at the front end heaven help us if anything happens to Vard's

Playing like this top six could be a strong possiablity but don't right off Chelsea or Man utd spurs or Arsenal all are to good clubs to be poor all season that miracle has been done before.
Happy days

“Vardy's another matter of course, particularly with Iheanacho dropping off the face of the Earth.”

Interesting that Slimani scored a brace in a MOtM performance for Monaco adding to his goal on debut. Would he have provided more effective backup?

I suppose there are also rumours of bad character associated with him.

Ultimately, you either believe the rumours that Slimani is a bad egg or you don't.

I do and so would rather him kept well away from the first team.

There are issues with Slim and alos the kind of service he requires. I hope the Youth set up find another nugget as a striker?

I don't want to get too excited too soon but if we win the next match at Old Trafford, which is a distinct possibility as Man U are somewhat dodgy at present, then I can see another 2016 scenario where we keep winning and winning. Unfortunately nobody will catch L'pool or City so we will have to settle for top 4 this time around!
Looking forward especially to Slabhead v Vards.

Not much to moan about for me either now Rodgers has shown he’s willing to be flexible with formation this season.

Puel was an idiot not to play to our best players strengths. I was worried Rodgers was going down that route with Tielemans and Vardy. Pérez was a problem as he is less suited to 4-1-4-1, but Rodgers showed he’s willing to make those tough decisions. Good to see.

Vardy is top scorer in the league since Rodgers took over. That’s no coincidence.

With Benkovic the great waiting on the sidelines, I’m excited about our first centreback injury, but I’m fearful of what we’d do without Vardy. That said, I do think we’re less reliant on him in the way we now play.

Totally happy with the progress under Rodgers, and what’s pleasing about it is I still think we’re a work in progress. I think there’s more improvement to come.

Utd, Spurs and Newcastle as a combo will be a great barometer for how far we’ve come. Win 2 of those and we can get excited. Don’t lose and we can be confident. Don’t pick up a win after labouring to a 0-0 draw with Newcastle and I guess we’ll be asking the same old questions.

Looking forward to finding out the answer.

If Vards gets injured I'd be interested to see Perez given a shot at CF.

Incidentally, we have to find a plan B, Vardy isn't going to last for ever and will get more susceptible to injury as he gets older.

Note - I'm absolutely not wishing anything on Jamie, I hope he's good for ages yet!

Vardy is 33 in January.

Hmmm .... I wonder if anyone has thought of cloning him?

Early days but the signs are encouraging definitely. Long way to go and the key will be playing teams who sit back and defend at home. Wolves was the only side we have played who did that and I think we still need to solve that puzzle.

Early in the season most teams are adventurous, that will change as the season goes on and we will have to learn how to get through packed defences
----------------------------------------------------------------------
To get through packed defences we need to overlap, play in between the lines and get to the byline to pull balls back. I simply cannot fathom why we don't even attempt to do this but it really frustrates me.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Spot on Arro, we just play the same way against packed defences and create next to nothing. That has to change
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think that’s why we’ve signed Praet. With Tielemans and Maddison pushing into space between the lines it leaves Ndidi looking to make the pass which is asking a lot. Praet played deeper at Sampdoria in spells as a playmaker rather than as a more attacking midfielder, he’s certainly got the passing range to break the lines. Question is does he replace Ndidi and we lose defensive solidity or is one of the wide forwards sacrificed. I’m thinking we’ll play with Ndidi and then look for Praet in these games to replace him if nothing is happening.

Cupcakes. Seems primed for Praet in 4-3-3 with Choudhury and Pérez, and Ndidi in 4-1-4-1 with albrighton and Barnes.

So many options!
