Reflection on the NLD

I suppose that if you had offered me a point before the game i would have taken it, but my oh my are we painful to watch. Arsenal are not a good side, as some of our defending is absolutely laughable, and they should have wiped the floor with us second half.

Issues / Points

1. Lack of in game management / professionalism / match nouse. This single handedly continues to be the biggest obstacle for us as a team. That debarcle of a goal kick is the perfect example. High risk low reward strategies, continually in an NLD away from home???? wtf is going on.

2. Lloris distribution / Sissoko's finishing. i find it amazing that professionals who train every day cannot improve on problem areas. lloris been with us 6 years and his distribution has gotten no better and puts us in trouble time after time. only arsenal being quite toothless let us off. Sissoko... mate just facking stay behind after training to work on your finishing... my gosh.

3. The RB situation. i must be boring everyone to tears now about this. so i will just leave it there. its an absolute joke.

4. Lo Celso - looked good when he came on.. i look forward to seeing more of him.

5. Lucas Moura must be banging poch's mrs. what does the man have to do to get any kind of consistent minutes. the last 15 of that game was made for him, it was so open and broken up.

6. we have gotten our two hardest games of the season out the way. (city away, and due to its nature, the NLD away), and come out with 2 points. performances continue to be dross, but at least eventually we will have fixture benefits of having already played those two games.

Lots to improve on

Ndombele will probably be fit in January with our luck

Agreed chron our game management is woeful.

Won't give sanchez too much heat as he's being asked to do a job.

But it's a crying shame sissoko hasn't got any technique whatsoever as he gets into the right positions but always facks it. 😡

I think we're going to be fine for top 4. We're not going to win the title we know that, so the priority is to win something else and improve on our league performance.

losing any 3 of the next 3 would certainly have me worried about a top 4 finish this season. Leicester look good to finish 7th minimum this season. a draw there would be a good result and a win a good statement.

Should be aiming for a win at Leicester. We're a better team than them.

we have the 3rd best team and squad in the premiership and the frustration is we are not playing like we do and have not improved the squad enough to compete with the 2 leaders.

Our tactics annoyed me. We allowed them too much of the ball. Second half we were so passive, standing off them and trying to protect a 1 goal lead and catch them on the counter. We are good enough to dominate the ball vs that midfield but basically handed over possession and the initiative by playing on the break so much. We are a decent counter attacking side but it is a feature of our play and we should have looked to control midfield and the game way more

As a neutral watching the game, this puzzled me as well - didn't understand the need to change the approach.

And if Poch did think that counter attacking was the right tactical approach then why on earth wasn't Moura on the pitch? Surely he and Son are your best countering attacking players?

not sure poch knows how he wants to play at the moment tbh. its a mess. we seem to be bobbing from one game to the next without any kind of clear plan or identity.
