Now the dust has settled

I still don’t think SolskjΓ¦r has got a clue.

Loved him as a player, but very very average as a manager and looks completely out of his depth.

5 wins in 25, let that sink in

We took back control of the game after the subs and started creating chances again. That happened before the sending off.

............

And why was this? Because Matic came on, Pogba pushed further forwards on the left and McT took up Pereiras position on the right with a bit of bite and running.

Exactly right. How we should have been set up from the start.

The mistake was the formation and tactical approach from the start. That was the really big error.

.............

Exactly. And this is the big issue.

I don't know if this is Ole, his coaches or a combination, but this will just carry on unless they shelve it.

What I find quite baffling is that a lot of the serial whiners on here who keep complaining about our results keep putting this formation down in their suggested line ups.

I can’t speak for anyone else but I suggest these line ups as I try to go with what Ole will go with

My personal ideal line up would be this..

DDG
Awb Lindelof Maguire Shaw
Matic
McT Pogba
Rashford Martial James

And I know there are issues in that line up. Lindelof is having a poor start to the season so the likes of Jones/Tuanzebe might do better there.

Shaw is also imo not performing as good as he should be (and is now injured) so should Dalot get a chance there? Is Young a better option than this iteration of Shaw?
I don’t really wanna be putting Rashford on the right but I feel he’s not good enough as a 9 and James has to be starting on the left and I don’t want Lingard there.

I don’t think there is a perfect line up that we can all agree on but we all know that playing Pogba in a defensive 2 is bad and if it keeps happening sympathy in Ole will dissipate

Cant blame Ole at all when his 'star player' has given the ball away more times this season than any other p[layer in the PL.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

You can when he keeps playing him so far back it hurts the team.
-------------

I don't agree with Ole playing Pogba so deep, but you can't blame him for the fact that Pogba often messes about with the ball in dangerous areas of the pitch and gets caught out. That's just Pogba being Pogba.

Yeah but we all know he does that- so does Ole

And if you have a guy who does that you play him further forward and have some sort of security behind him

I totally agree that he should be further up the pitch, but you can't just remove all blame from him. Time after time he has been caught in possession this season and it has already cost us. This guy is supposed to be world class. If you isn't intelligent enough to realise that his stupid showboating is costing the team then I really despair.

Trust me. I know how reckless Pogba can be. And I agree he should get some of the blame. I’m just arguing the original point that says ‘you can’t blame Ole at all’.

If he keeps playing a reckless person as a DM then eventually it will cost him.

This is the inescapable fact of the matter.
