I do not understand people's fascination with Willock. Very strange obsession. He looks ok. Certainly nothing special.

19 years old with no experience but can hold his own and cut it with the big boys. Thats huge potential. Even with a really top crop emerging with England there has been no one who can do that midfield role. That shows how difficult it to find technically gifted players in central midfield. Willock is that. Obviously he has to continue to develop but the fact that he can control tempo and link play so seamlessly is astounding for someone so young.

He's 20.

I really like Willock, good combination of physical qualities as well as being able to play a bit. Positioning on the pitch is good too, the lad knows where to be. Can't really teach that.

Guendouzi, Ceballos and Chambers for me..

Torreira, Guendouzi & Ceballos. With Torreira actually playing CDM instead of AM/RM or whatever the fack Emery is trying to do with him.

There's too much focus on pretty technical play in our midfield, at the expense of protecting the defence.

Any midfield that doesn't include some combination involving Torreira or Chambers sitting tight in front of the back 4 will see us struggle over the season.

I still don't rate Guendouzi though and I don't think he should be starting constantly. Yes he did play well yesterday but first time in ages. Midfield trio I would like is Torreira, Ceballos, Ozil, Torreira will need to go back to sitting deep like he did last season.
Guenzouzi, Willock and Xhaka can then be squad players. With Mkhi out on loan hopefully this can be a chance for Nelson to get more chances too on the wing but again more of a squad player.

As a non arsenal fan I've gotta agree totally.
If you're gonna play your best attacking trio you need a midfield packed full of workhorses.

The speed of attack is what stretches teams and creates chances. Oil and even willock, who looks promising, wouldn't work in CM I don't think. Maybe when he fills out but ozil- no chance.

Luiz in dmf would work and is where he played his best football, in my view. Torreira, guendouzi and Luiz over xhaka. Swap the real guy with guendouzi against the right teams or home games maybe?

I'm not hating anyone, I just feel everyone is over hyping Guendouzi. I don't want to target anyone!
