Trippier Sour grapes?

Former Tottenham defender Kieran Trippier has lifted the lid on his departure from north London and explained the differences between Atletico Madrid and his old employers.

As per the Telegraph, Trippier says Atletico do more work as a defensive unit – which will help him – and also says Tottenham sold him too early.

He said: “At times we could have done more work as a unit. At Atletico, it is defensive but it’s entertaining as well. One thing I want is my defending to improve. Cholo [Simeone] is one of the best managers in the world, especially on the defensive side. There is no better person to work under.

“Tottenham probably got rid of me at the wrong time. I tried to speak to the chairman and didn’t really get an answer. I spoke to the manager and I didn’t get a yes and I didn’t get a no. So, you get the impression."

Seems like he is blaming Poch for his poor defending.

First off, Trippier can't run worth a damn and Simeone is not going to solve that problem. Better positioning, maybe.
Second, Foyth is now our first choice at RB....and don't hold your breath on that one working out!
By January we'll be in the market for a new RB.

We are now putting players on the pitch .... KWP, Winks to name two, who are not up to top Prem standard and may never be. Good players, yes; the best, NO!
Not a good omen for a club that wants to be a contender.

Winks....not premier league standard but in the England squad

Sums up the England squad tbf!

Why are you saying this the week following Winks' MOTM performance in the NLD?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you'd watched the match you'd know that our midfield was totally overrun by the Arsenholes in the second half and we were really lucky to come away with a draw, courtesy of VAR.
To award a MOTM at all was ridiculous. I'd have given it to Lloris.
Winks is a very weak link in that midfield, a stopgap until Ndombele can play.

Watched the match. Was a deserving MOTM.

Why are we listening to this guy. He was average ( at very best ) was always the weak link in games that mattered, with mistake after mistake.

Won't miss him at all, irrespective of who we have at RB.

Agree Ted, Winks should not be a starter in any team seriously looking at winning big prizes. Tidy player, but Spurs should be doing better than having Winks alongside Lamela and Sissoko in midfield.

Lloris was Spurs best player by a countrymile. He kept Spurs in the game. Winks vanished second half.

He fits Athleticos style, he never really fit ours, despite some good performances against some of the poorest teams. Bottom line is he isn't quick enough or good enough defensively for Spurs, that's why he's been sold.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yet KWP is both good and quick enough?

I just get the feeling something is horribly wrong at Spurs at the moment

We wanted to offload Aurier too, leaving us with for KWP and Foyth. WTF.
